MEMIC Names Yao as Chief information Officer

Workers’ compensation specialist The MEMIC Group has appointed John R. Yao as senior vice president and chief information officer to oversee the company’s information systems and technology.

Yao has 35 years of information technology experience in the healthcare and insurance industries. Previous to MEMIC, Yao was director of Applications Development at Aetna, vice president of Information Technology at CNA Insurance and chief technology officer at HealthWare Solutions International.

The MEMIC Group is based in Portland, Maine and includes MEMIC Indemnity Co., MEMIC Casualty Co. and parent company Maine Employers’ Mutual Insurance Co.
