OSHA to Investigate Death of Pennsylvania Steel Worker
Federal authorities are investigating the death of a worker killed in an accident at a steel fabricating company in eastern Pennsylvania last week.
The Lehigh County coroner’s office said 53-year-old Robert Schoenberger was struck by an object while operating a press Thursday at Allentown Steel Fabricating in Catasauqua.
An autopsy Friday concluded that the Danielsville resident died of sharp-force injuries to the abdomen, and the death was ruled an accident.
The federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating.
Allentown Steel Fabricating says it provides a variety of custom fabrication and other services involving mild steel, alloy steel, stainless steel and aluminum.
