2 Chiropractors in Connecticut Face Sentencing for Fraud
Two chiropractors in Connecticut face sentencing for falsifying medical records.
Jennifer Lynne of Milford and George DeCarvalho of Stamford are scheduled to be sentenced Tuesday in federal court in Bridgeport. DeCarvalho pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit health care fraud while Lynne pleaded guilty to conspiring to make false statements.
Authorities say Lynne performed unnecessary chiropractic treatments on people involved in auto accidents and falsified medical records for payment to insurance companies.
Prosecutors say DeCarvalho contacted another chiropractor to fabricate medical records to show he suffered certain injuries in an auto accident.
DeCarvahlo is seeking probation, with his attorney saying he has been devastated emotionally and financially. Lynne also is asking to be spared prison, citing constructive steps she’s taken.
Five other defendants await sentencing.
