Power Restoration Efforts Continue in Southern New Jersey
Nearly a week after severe thunderstorms slammed into southern New Jersey, some 16,000 homes and businesses were still without electricity as of Thursday, July 5.
Atlantic City Electric crews have been restoring power nonstop since the storm hit early last Saturday, June 30.
At the peak of the outage, 206,000 power customers in New Jersey were going without electricity.
The utility company says all customers should have power back by sometime today, July 6.
Meanwhile, conditions are still harsh for those without power. Forecasters expect high temperatures to remain in the 90s every day through Sunday.
