New Hampshire’s Mitchell to Hear Health Insurance Pools Case
New Hampshire Secretary of State William Gardner has named a Sandwich attorney to hear a dispute between a nonprofit organization and New Hampshire regulators over how the nonprofit manages health insurance pools for public workers.
Gardner said he selected Don Mitchell, who is an experienced administrative hearings officer who recently retired as executive director of the Public Employees Labor Relations Board.
Gardner said Mitchell has conducted many complex administrative proceedings and earned a reputation as being fair.
The hearing will be on a complaint against the Local Government Center based on a report critical of the center’s handling of taxpayer money.
The Local Government Center administers benefit plans for public employees.
