New Jersey Police Rule Out Arson in School Bus Yard Fire
Investigators say they’ve ruled out arson as the possible cause of a fire that damaged 11 vehicles parked in a southern New Jersey school bus yard.
But the cause of Thursday’s fire in Bordentown Township still remained a mystery on Sunday.
No injuries were reported in the fire, which was reported by a passing motorist at 3:35 a.m. But the loss of the vehicles forced officials to cancel classes that day at several schools in the Burlington County community.
Authorities say they’ve failed to uncover any evidence that the fire was the result of a criminal act, but say their investigation is ongoing. The district’s insurance company has also hired a private fire investigative service to probe the blaze.
