Pittsburgh Pirates Fan Sues Atlanta Braves

A Pittsburgh Pirates baseball fan says in a lawsuit that Atlanta Braves’ security officers and ushers ignored complaints about a group of rowdy fans he says attacked him at Turner Field.

Elmer “Bobby” Collins of Macon claims in court documents that his assailants knocked out 11 of his teeth, broke his jaw and left him in a pool of blood outside a Turner Field restroom at a Braves vs. Pirates game in April 2008.

Braves spokeswoman Beth Marshall says the organization is confident that its employees acted appropriately.

Collins is asking to be reimbursed at least $38,714 for medical costs. His attorney, Jon Hawk, said Collins has not had the money for surgery and has been drinking out of a straw.

The lawsuit was filed in Fulton County State Court.
