Pennsylvania Jury Awards $6.8M in 2007 DUI Crash
An eastern Pennsylvania jury has awarded $6.8 million in damages to a woman who was injured in a 2007 drunken driving crash.
A Chester County jury found a Coatesville restaurant liable for having continued to serve a man who had been visibly intoxicated.
Ryan Fell, of West Brandywine, says she is still in pain and remains unemployed because of the March 2007 accident.
Omar Villalava-Martinez, formerly of Parkesburg, had been drinking at the Famous Mexican Restaurant and Bar in Coatesville before getting in his car and smashing and head-on into Fell’s car just four miles down the road.
Villalava, an illegal immigrant, was later deported to Mexico. The restaurant has since closed.
