Contractor Seeks Claims for Property Damaged by Explosion
The mayor of the Connecticut town where a power plant was rocked by a fatal explosion says the general contractor building it is asking for property damage claims from neighbors.
Middletown Mayor Sebastian Guiliano said Monday that O&G Industries Inc., the general contractor for the Kleen Energy project, has asked that property owners forward claims to the Torringon-based company’s insurance carrier.
The massive blast Sunday that killed five people also damaged homes, garages and other structures in a broad area surrounding the site.
A spokesman for O&G did not immediately comment when contacted.
