Ex-Candidate for Delaware Commissioner’s Office Switches Parties
John F. Brady, a Republican who ran for insurance commissioner, has become a Democrat.
Brady, the recorder of deeds for Sussex County, changed registration Tuesday afternoon.
He is keeping his political options open, saying he enjoyed running for statewide office.
Brady, who is openly gay, has dealt with internal Republican opposition in his past races. Brady bears no ill will toward Republican officeholders, and he’s enjoyed his time in the party.
He acknowledges having been called a “misfit Republican” for his stands on social issues, which created some rifts with the GOP.
