Democrat Stewart Wins Delaware Insurance Commissioner Race
Democrat Karen Weldin Stewart rolled to victory in the race to be Delaware’s next insurance commissioner.
She defeated Republican John F. Brady, 56.9 percent to 41 percent in the final tally.
The former state insurance department deputy receiver beat Gene Reed Jr., the candidate backed by the Democratic Party establishment, in the primary. This was her third run for the insurance post.
Weldin Stewart succeeds Democrat Matt Denn, who won his bid for lieutenant governor Tuesday.
