Former New York Regulator Pietroluongo Joins Cambridge Group
A longtime veteran of the New York State Department of Insurance, Louis “Lou” Pietroluongo, has been tapped as vice president of Business Relations for The Cambridge Group headed by Barry Goldwater, Jr., president.
During his service with the New York department, Pietroluongo created the agency’s disaster response plan which was used in the aftermath of the September 11th attacks on the World Trade Center. New York’s plan has since been deployed to numerous other state insurance departments
He also served as a member of New York State’s Disaster Preparedness Commission, Governor’s Homeland Security Executive Council and New York City’s Office of Emergency Management Insurance Working Group and he represented the National Association of Insurance Commissioners and the New York State Insurance Department while serving as a member of the U.S. Treasury Department’s Financial and Banking Information Infrastructure Committee. In this role he assisted in developing the National Pandemic Flu Exercise of 2007.
Prior to joining the NYSID, he served 32 years with the New York City Police Department.
