Delaware Police Issue 840 Speeding Tickets in 1 Month
Police in Delaware issued 840 speeding citations, including nearly 200 in one week, in the first month of a statewide crackdown on speeding.
The state highway safety department is promoting the initiative, which also led to 14 aggressive driving arrests and two DUI arrests.
More than 500 citations were issued in July for aggressive driving offenses such as running red lights or stop signs.
The Office of Highway Safety says its focused on stopping aggressive driving. The new program was launched July 7, the first day officials began keeping statistics.
