28 Delaware Municipalities Form Workers’ Compensation Pool
Delaware Insurance Commissioner Matt Denn says local authorities in the state are forming a self-insurance pool that will make workers compensation insurance more affordable for the local governments and taxpayers.
Denn says 28 county, city and town governments are on board.
He says state law allows the arrangement, as long as all players have the resources to handle any workers compensation payouts
Wilmington Mayor James Baker says getting workers compensation insurance from the self-insurance group will give municipalities more control of their expenses.
