Conn.’s Gowrie Barden & Brett Buys Financing Firm

Westbrook, Conn. agency Gowrie, Barden & Brett has acquired Customer One Financial of Old Saybrook, an originator of boat and recreational vehicle financing.

“The opportunity to offer insurance and finance choices to our clients is something we have been looking to do for several years,” said Carter Gowrie, president of Gowrie, Barden & Brett.

Cathy Comstock, president of the finance firm, will now serve as president of the agency’s finance division.

Insurance Journal recently cited Gowrie Barden & Brett as one of the top independent property and casualty insurance agencies in the U.S.
