Majestic Receives License to Write Workers’ Comp in N.Y.
Majestic Insurance Co., recently acquired by CRM Holdings, Ltd., a provider of workers’ compensation services, has received licensing approval to operate in the state of New York.
Majestic currently writes workers’ compensation insurance under various state acts and the U.S. Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act in 15 other states, and operates primarily in California, Arizona, Alaska, Nevada, Oregon and Washington. Most recently in November 2006, Majestic was upgraded to an A- rating (Excellent) by rating agency A.M. Best.
Majestic has been in business since 1980. Its headquarters are in San Francisco.
Through its subsidiary Majestic, CRM provides traditional workers’ compensation insurance. CRM also offers fee-based management and other services for workers’ compensation self-insured groups in New York, California and Texas.
