AIA Praises Work of Delaware Legislature
Taylor Cosby, American Insurance Ass’n., VP – mid Atlantic region, praised the work of Delaware’s General Assembly as it wound up the first part of its two year session.
Cosby noted that financial service regulation reform, as provided for by the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, and the abolition of ” an abusive retaliatory tax practice” would ” help keep insurance consumer costs down.”
He promised continued efforts to prevent passage of bills which would extend the Statute of Limitations on personal injury lawsuits, create a presumption that certain medical treatments are “reasonable and necessary,” double the financial limits on auto insurance, and combine underinsured motorists’ coverage with a defendant’s liability coverage.
