Corporate & Specialty insurer HDI Global (HDI), headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, appointed Amy Shinkman as credit and political risk lead at HDI Global US. Based in Washington, D.C., Shrinkman has over 25 years of experience in global credit and political risk underwriting. In her new role, she will lead the development of HDI Global’s credit and political risk business in the U.S. Most recently, Shinkman served as the vice president of export credit insurance at the Export-Import Bank of the US (EXIM),. Prior to EXIM, she held positions with AIG and Atradius, in both London and Singapore.

AXA XL, headquartered in New York City, appointed Matt Rodliff as chief claims officer, Americas, effective July 13. Based in Boston, Rodliff joins AXA XL from Liberty Mutual, where he served as vice president, specialized claims.

Rodliff succeeds Jim DiVirgilio, who has announced his retirement, effective at the end of July. DiVirgilio served for 18 years at AXA XL, most recently as chief claims officer, Americas. He will continue to serve in an advisory role through the end of the year.

American International Group (AIG) hired Christine Williams as head of global client and broker relationships. Williams will begin this new role at AIG on September 1. Williams joins AIG from Aon, where she was co-head of Aon U.S. and was a member of the executive committee. During her more than two decades at Aon, Williams held a range of senior leadership roles in the U.S. and internationally.

Miller, an independent specialist (re)insurance broker headquartered in London, appointed Kim Plant as head of North American property. Plant joins Miller from Amwins, where he served as a director in its North American property division from 2020. He began his insurance career in the property team at Lockton in 2015, following 13 years of military service in the British Army’s Grenadier Guards. At Miller, Plant leads the business’s North American property proposition out of London and Bermuda.

Nancy Bewlay was named American International Group’s new global chief underwriting officer in the insurer’s latest development at top leadership. Bewlay, who was most recently group chief underwriting and pricing officer at AXA Group since 2023, will start her new role with AIG on September 8. She will report to Eric Anderson, president and CEO, and she will join the executive leadership team. Anderson officially became president and CEO on June 1, succeeding Peter Zaffino, who has moved to executive chair of the company’s board of directors.

CFC, the London-based specialist MGA, appointed Adam Winslow as group CEO. Prior to joining CFC, Winslow was group CEO of Direct Line Group. Before Direct Line Group, Winslow was CEO of Aviva’s UK and Ireland General Insurance business. Current Group CEO Louise O’Shea, who has served for nearly six years, first as an independent non-executive and latterly as CEO, will be stepping down but will remain a significant shareholder in the business.

CRC Benefits, a division of CRC Group headquartered in Dallas, Texas, hired Karen Crotty as a benefits sales executive to lead a new Northeast-focused department serving brokers in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Maryland markets. With more than 35 years of insurance industry experience, Crotty oversees an initiative dedicated to minimum value plans and minimum essential coverage plans, as well as voluntary benefit products, and alternative benefits strategies for small and mid-sized employers. She most recently served as an employee benefits consultant at Kistler Tiffany Benefits.

MSIG USA, headquartered in New York City, appointed Darin Stafford, Thomas R. Sullivan and Marc Gallo to the board of directors of MSIG Holdings (U.S.A.), Inc.

Stafford has over 30 years of experience in finance, governance, capital markets, enterprise risk and strategic growth. He recently retired as chief financial officer of Amwins.

Sullivan joins the board with more than 40 years of leadership experience. He previously served as senior associate director at the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, following earlier leadership roles as Connecticut Insurance Commissioner and senior vice president at The Hartford.

Gallo has more than 35 years of experience, including a 29-year career at PwC, where he advised insurance and financial services organizations on digital transformation, cloud technologies, artificial intelligence, and enterprise modernization, including building the firm’s new services and emerging technologies practice.

Tom Clifford assumed an expanded leadership role as leader of U.S. brokerage and account management in the construction and infrastructure (C&I) group at NFP, an Aon company. Based in New York, Clifford oversees the C&I brokerage strategy and relationships with insurers and wholesalers, as well as brokers and account management personnel for all construction P&C lines. He will also supervise the national account management strategy and enhance protocols for contractors and developer clients. He previously served as senior vice president, C&I, in NFP’s Northeast and Atlantic regions.

The Andover Companies, headquartered in Andover, Maryland, appointed G. Quinn Landers as senior vice president and chief claims officer. Landers joined The Andover Companies in 2019 after a decade serving as outside counsel to the organization, most recently serving as vice president. Landers has served on the company’s employee training and development team, AI task force, and AI governance committee, and will continue as an officer of the company.

The appointment follows the retirement of Stephen Randall, executive vicepresidentand chief claimsofficer,after 12 years with The Andover Companies and more than four decades in the insurance industry.

Chesapeake Employers’ Insurance Company appointed John Barnett as senior vice president and chief financial officer (CFO). Barnett has more than 25 years of financial leadership experience and will oversee the company’s financial strategy, operations, and capital deployment. Barnett will lead financial regulatory reporting, tax, audits, internal controls, and reinsurance programs.

Vermont Mutual Insurance Group, headquartered in Montpelier, Vermont, named Sarah Jarvis as vice president and chief administrative officer. Jarvis will lead all human resources responsibilities and serve in a newly created community liaison role and as executive director of the Vermont Mutual Charitable Giving Fund. She previously served as a staff attorney for the Vermont League of Cities and Towns. She also held roles as chief of staff at a Vermont higher education institution, staff attorney in private practice, and deputy state’s attorney in the Washington County State’s Attorney’s Office.

The company’s vice president and chief marketing officer, Shaun Farley, has announced his upcoming retirement at the end of 2026.

Upon his retirement, Farley’s position as chief marketing officer will be assumed by Jonathan Becker, Vermont Mutual’s current vice president and chief underwriting officer. Becker has been in the insurance industry for nearly 30 years.

Current vice president and chief people officer, Sarah Young, will take over the role of chief underwriting officer beginning January 1, 2027. Young has 17 years of insurance experience, serving in leadership positions across personal lines underwriting, commercial lines underwriting, marketing and human resources.

Shepherd Insurance appointed Collin Hill as the company’s first-ever chief information officer (CIO), a new leadership role. Hill has over two decades of technology and leadership experience spanning the private sector, higher education, and government, advancing into IT leadership roles before serving as a virtual CIO for small and mid-sized businesses. Most recently, Hill served as chief information officer and director of the Information Services Agency for the City of Indianapolis and Marion County.

The board of directors of Big I Illinois named Brett Gerger as CEO. Gerger, who has served as director of education and agency resources with Big I Illinois since 2019, succeeds Phil Lackman, who is retiring after 31 years with the association. Gerger began his 24-year career at the Illinois Department of Insurance in the producer regulatory division. He later served as chief deputy director of product lines and licensing. He also served as the state of Illinois group insurance division manager with the Illinois Department of Central Management Services.

Kristi Osmond will assume the role of education director, and Jennifer Jacobs has been promoted to chief operating officer.

Venbrook Group LLC named Kenneth W. Ward chief financial officer. Ward specializes in operational efficiency, cost-cutting initiatives and growth. He most recently held the CFO role at Centerline Communications LLC. Before that, he was CFO at National Parts Warehouse. He will be based in Milton, Georgia. Venbrook is headquartered in Los Angeles, California.

Derek Lesmann joined Crest Insurance Group as a broker in the Denver employee benefits division. Lesmann most recently was an employee benefits producer at USI and previously served as lead appraisal coordinator at Universal Lending. Crest is headquartered in Denver, Colorado,

Trucordia, headquartered in Lindon, Utah, hired Steve Roberts as executive vice president, Health Benefits & Financial Services. Roberts’ background spans senior leadership roles at Carelon, Aetna, Henry Schein, Datavant, GE Healthcare and Veradigm, where he led strategic initiatives tied to integration, platform optimization and scaling complex businesses.

Mike Lundquist joined Alliant Insurance Services as vice president within its employee benefits group. Based in Utah, Lundquist’s experience spans a variety of industries. Prior to joining Alliant, Lundquist was a senior benefits consultant with a national insurance and employee benefits consulting firm.
