Marsh, a business of Marsh McLennan headquartered in New York City, named

Will Thomas-Ferrand head of captive insurance beginning Jan. 1, 2025.

Thomas-Ferrand currently serves as the international practice leader of Marsh Captive Solutions. A 20-year veteran of the firm, Thomas-Ferrand has held various roles.

Ellen Charnley, current president of Marsh Captive Solutions, will retire at the end of 2024.

Applied Underwriters Aerospace, headquartered in Atlanta, has named

Richard Parker chairman of the Washington, D.C.-based group.

Parker has over 35 years of experience in space insurance, satellite engineering and satellite and launch vehicle procurement.

Before joining Applied Underwriters, he served as co-head of space at Canopius US and was divisional president and co-founder at Assure Space.

H.W. Kaufman Group, headquartered in Farmington Hills, Michigan, named Danny Kaufman and Jodie Kaufman Davis co-presidents.

Alan Jay Kaufman will continue serving as Kaufman’s chairman and chief executive officer.

In addition to his current role as president of Burns & Wilcox in the U.S., Danny Kaufman is responsible for the Burns & Wilcox brokerage and Canadian divisions. The leadership for both divisions report to him.

Kaufman Davis will become vice chair of Atain Insurance Companies while retaining oversight of RB Jones. She will continue to be responsible for Kaufman’s businesses outside North America.

Hub International Limited, headquartered in Chicago, named Tim DeSett North American commercial lines president. DeSett is responsible for developing HUB’s Commercial Lines strategy and driving organic growth.

With more than 30 years of experience in the insurance industry, DeSett most recently served as executive vice president, property/casualty, at NFP.

Chubb, headquartered in Whitehouse, New Jersey, appointed

Tim Benson executive vice president, multinational insurance leader. Based in Philadelphia, Benson succeeds Laura Vest, who is retiring from the company.

Benson joined Chubb in 2005 and has over 20 years of insurance industry experience, most recently serving as executive vice president and chief revenue officer for Chubb’s middle market division.

The Hartford, headquartered in Hartford, Connecticut, expanded Michael Garrison’s role to include the international division in addition to his current responsibilities as head of the company’s U.S. wholesale organization.

Carl Bach, head of international and CEO of Hartford Underwriting Agency Limited, the Lloyd’s of London managing agency for Syndicate 1221, will report to Garrison.

The Hartford also named Rick Ciullo head of Global Specialty’s U.S. retail businesses, broadening his role overseeing bond and credit and political risk to include environmental, financial lines, ocean marine, livestock and related retail-focused distribution.

Vantage Insurance Partners Inc., a New York-based insurance brokerage and risk management consulting firm, appointed Jack Butcher chief executive officer. He succeeds former CEO Alex Panlilio.

Butcher has more than three decades of experience in the insurance industry. He previously served as president of Hagerty and a director of Hagerty International Holdings Ltd.

Butcher also spent a substantial part of his career in executive leadership roles at Marsh McLennan Agency and Marsh’s U.S. and Canada business.

HDI Global Insurance Company, the U.S. subsidiary of international corporate and specialty insurer HDI Global SE (HDI), headquartered in Chicago, appointed Thomas Long U.S. casualty lead.

With an insurance career spanning over 35 years, Thomas most recently served as assistant vice president of construction with Arch Insurance Group Inc.

Alliant Insurance Services, headquartered in Irvine, California, hired Mike Jenkins as senior vice president within its Alliant Americas division.

Based in Overland Park, Kansas, Jenkins specializes in underwriting management, team leadership, large loss-sensitive property programs and captives.

Rob Grant joined Alliant as senior vice president, producer within its employee benefits group in Chicago.

Grant has over 25 years of experience in the insurance industry, most recently serving as senior vice president at Lockton Companies.

Novatae Risk Group named John Catrabone as vice president of carrier relations.

Based in Ohio, Catrabone has more than 30 years of experience in various insurance industry sectors.

Novatae is headquartered in Dallas.

Grange Insurance Company, headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, named Nicole Carter vice president, personal lines sales and strategic distribution, effective Jan. 1, 2025.

Carter has nearly 30 years of experience in the insurance industry. Before joining Grange, she served as director of national accounts for Allstate.

Tokio Marine HCC (TMHCC), based in Houston, Texas, appointed David Perez president, Excess Casualty.

Perez brings nearly four decades of experience to the new division. He joins TMHCC from Liberty Mutual where he served as chief underwriting officer, Global Risk Solutions.

Ron Novak joined Alliant Insurance Services as senior vice president and producer within its employee benefits group.

Novak, based in Greater Fayetteville, Arkansas, has 29 years of insurance industry experience. Most recently, he served as senior vice president, Relation Insurance Services.

US Premium Finance, a division of Atlanta-based Ameris Bank, named Alan Malone director of sales and marketing.

Malone has more than 30 years of experience in insurance premium finance. He was previously senior vice president and regional sales manager at AFCO Direct, another premium finance firm.

Pete Galla joined Alliant Insurance Services as executive vice president and senior director, Alliant Specialty, within the company’s mergers and acquisitions vertical.

Galla has more than 25 years of experience in the insurance industry. He most recently served as deputy head of the industry vertical division and head of P/C, private equity and transaction solutions at WTW.

Alliant is headquartered in Irvine, California.

EPIC Insurance Brokers & Consultants in San Francisco appointed several leadership members to its Northern California team.

William Ferree will lead the Northern California region as regional president, and Matt Sitzmann will be chief operating officer. Both will work with Robyn Pawlo, who will assume the role of executive managing principal, employee benefits.

Curt Perata and Brian Quinn have been named vice chairmen in the region.

Ferree will continue as co-lead of EPIC’s Pacific Central territory and will take on an expanded role as regional president of EPIC’s Northern California region.

Sitzmann is the managing principal for EPIC’s Lafayette, California, office and will add the role of chief operating officer for the new region.

Pawlo is executive managing principal, employee benefits and will continue in this role in the new region.

Perata and Quinn take on expanded roles as vice chairmen of EPIC’s Northern California region.

Hub International Ltd. appointed Andrew Forchelli executive vice president of HUB California, effective Jan. 1, 2025.

He will cover existing operations in Northern and Southern California while maintaining his roles as president of HUB LAOC and president of HUB’s national entertainment and sports specialty practice.

Forchelli has been with HUB for more than 10 years and has worked in the insurance industry for 22 years.

Risk Strategies named Jeff Clinkscales senior vice president, private client services leader for the west region.

Clinkscales, based in Portland, Oregon, most recently served as vice president of USI’s Personal Risk practice.

Risk Strategies is headquartered in Boston.

USG Insurance Services Inc. hired Tiffany Francis as an associate producer/broker with their garage division team.

Francis, based in Alpine, California, entered the insurance industry eight years ago and most recently served as a renewal garage underwriter with Risk Placement Services Inc.

Burns & Wilcox named Tom Carvalho managing director of the company’s San Francisco, Seattle and Portland offices.

Carvalho, who is based in San Francisco, joined Burns & Wilcox in 2011 as an associate underwriter. He most recently served as associate managing director.

Burns & Wilcox is headquartered in Farmington Hills, Michigan.

LP Insurance Services LLC in Reno, Nevada, added Travis Reed to its commercial lines team in northern Nevada.

Reed has more than 10 years of insurance industry experience, most recently as a sales executive with Alpine Insurance Associates.
