Frenkel Benefits, an EPIC Company, has hired Nicholas Tunno as a principal in New York.

Tunno will report to Phil Remig, Northeast region senior vice president of Operations and Sales.

Tunno joins from the New York office of Marsh & McLennan Agency, where he was a risk management consultant focused on the financial services, technology and transportation sectors, offering employee benefits and risk management strategies to clients.

In his new role, Tunno will be responsible for new business development, the management of employee benefits programs and providing risk management strategies to mid-market and large clients across a range of industries, including financial institutions.

In a separate move, Frenkel & Company, an EPIC Company, has hired Joseph Ferber as a principal in New York.

Ferber will also report to Remig.

In his new role, Ferber will be responsible for new business development, management of property and casualty insurance programs and providing risk management strategies to mid-market and large clients across a range of industries, including financial institutions, manufacturing and distribution, and commercial and habitational real estate.

Ferber also joins from the New York office of Marsh & McLennan Agency, where he was an executive risk strategist.

Cooley is expanding its global insurance and insurtech leadership with the election of Heidi Lawson to the partnership.

Based in Boston, Mass., Lawson arrived at Cooley in April as counsel. She was formerly an insurance partner and co-chair of the insurance, reinsurance, investigations and risk management practice at Mintz Levin.

Cooley has more than 900 lawyers across 13 offices in the U.S., China and Europe.

Alliant has hired Arlene Potts as vice president within its Employee Benefits Group.

Potts is based in Suffolk, Va., and will work with a portfolio of clients to provide strategic employee benefits services that aim to reduce healthcare costs and optimize organizational performance.

Prior to joining Alliant, Potts was a senior associate with a large, national employee benefits and insurance brokerage firm.

While there, Potts serviced a diverse base of clients with both regional and national operations, consulting on an array of health, wellness and employee retention initiatives.

SageSure Insurance Managers, an independent residential property managing general underwriter and subsidiary of Insight Catastrophe Group (ICG), has appointed Victor dos Santos as president of Commercial Insurance.

Dos Santos and his team will work from SageSure’s Cheshire, Conn., office.

SageSure plans to begin offering commercial lines in the coming years in addition to the personal lines it has been offering since 2009, according to a company press release.

Dos Santos has 30 years of experience in the insurance industry. He comes to SageSure from Travelers Insurance, where he was most recently vice president and actuary of Business Insurance.

The Professional Insurance Agents of New Hampshire Inc. (PIANH) announced its officers for 2018-2019 at its annual meeting during the PIANH Symposium18, held at the 100 Club in Portsmouth, N.H.

Lyle W. Fulkerson of Amherst, N.H., was elected president.

Fulkerson is president of HPM Insurance in Amherst, N.H. An active member of PIANH, Fulkerson is a member of the Government Affairs and Executive/Budget & Finance Committees.

Keith Maglia of Atkinson, N.H., was elected president-elect. Maglia is president of Insurance Solutions Corporation, in Plaistow, N.H. Active in the association, Maglia served as secretary/treasurer from 2017-2018 and is a member of the Executive/Budget & Finance Committee.

Jeffrey Foy of E. Kingston, N.H., was re-elected vice president. Foy is chief operating officer of Foy Insurance in Manchester, N.H. An active member of PIANH, Foy serves as chairperson of the Government Affairs Committee and is a member of the Executive/Budget & Finance Committee. He also is an active past president of PIANH, serving in 2003-2004 and currently is PIANH’s national director.

Casey Hadlock of Littleton, N.H., was elected secretary/treasurer. Hadlock is president and co-owner of Hadlock Agency Inc., a fourth-generation agency in Littleton, N.H. Active in PIANH, Hadlock serves as a member of the Government Affairs Committee.
