Fourteen-year Erie Insurance veteran Glenn Kricher has been appointed to the position of branch manager at the insurer’s Harrisburg, Penn., branch, effective Sept. 13.

As a current senior district sales manager in Harrisburg, Kricher oversees one of Erie’s largest districts. Kricher joined Erie’s Harrisburg branch in 2004 as district sales manager.

Business Risk Partners (BRP), a Windsor, Conn.-based specialty insurance program administrator, has appointed Brad Lacey as a principal underwriter focused on management and professional liability products.

Simultaneously, BRP has assumed the renewal rights to a management and professional liability portfolio managed by Lacey that was previously underwritten by V3 Insurance Partners, LLC (V3).

Effective immediately, BRP will solicit V3 management and professional lines renewals through the producing broker. BRP will offer renewal terms to qualifying insureds through its Validus Specialty facility on admitted Stratford paper.

Lacey has more than 20 years of experience in the specialty lines segment at both carriers and managing general agencies.

Prior to building a specialty lines practice with V3, he had a long tenure with Philadelphia Insurance Companies in a variety of roles. Early in his career, Lacey also worked as a production underwriter for Victor O. Schinnerer and USF&G.

The Vermont Insurance Agents Association (VIAA) has elected Paul E. Plunkett, senior vice president and principal of Hickok & Boardman Insurance Group in Burlington, Vt., as its president.

Plunkett’s involvement as VIAA’s president follows an active involvement with the association that includes serving as a board director, secretary/treasurer, vice president, a member of the Executive Committee and chair of the 112th Annual Convention.

Within the Hickok & Boardman Insurance Group, Plunkett is the director of business development for the property and casualty insurance operations of the company.

Plunkett is involved in many civic and trade organizations. Currently, he serves as board chair of the Greater Burlington Industrial Corp. He also serves on the board at ECHO Leahy Center for Lake Champlain, chairs the Finance Committee and is the vice board chair.

Previously, he has served as chair of the Saint Michael’s College Green Mountain Scholarship Committee, board of directors for the Cancer Patient Support Foundation and a director for the Flynn Theatre for Performing Arts.

Other VIAA board officers include: Alan Kinney, vice president of Kinney Insurance in St. Albans, Vt.; Dan Rodliff, secretary/treasurer of NFP P&C in South Burlington, Vt.; and Ron Bixby, national director of the Ludlow Insurance Agency in Ludlow, Vt.

The following agents also serve on the VIAA board of directors: Chip Ams of Finn & Stone Insurance in Manchester, Vt.; Mike Barrett of The Barrett Agency in St. Johnsbury, Vt.; and Erin Odell of Odell Insurance Agency in Bradford, Vt.

CBIZ has hired Michael A. Garguilo as president of the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions of CBIZ Insurance Services Inc.

Garguilo brings nearly 30 years of insurance experience to CBIZ. He is based in the Plymouth Meeting, Penn., office and is responsible for the growth, profit and loss performance of the organization’s property and casualty business in the region.

Additionally, Gargiulo will apply his experience with insurance agency mergers and acquisitions as CBIZ examines acquisition opportunities across the U.S.

The Professional Insurance Agents of New York (PIANY) elected Jamie A. Ferris as president at a meeting of the association’s board of directors at PIANY headquarters in Glenmont, N.Y.

Ferris is president of P.W. Wood & Son Inc. in Ithaca, N.Y.

As an active member of PIANY, Ferris served as president-elect in 2017 to 2018, vice president in 2014 to 2017 and secretary in 2013 to 2014.

He currently is vice president of the Government Affairs and Nominations Committees and is a member of the Executive/Budget & Finance and Benefits & Services Committees.

Ferris also is a member of the Glenmont National Alliance Committee and is vice chairperson of the association’s Southern Tier Advisory Council.
