EPIC Insurance Brokers and Consultants has added Sarmad Naqvi to its private client insurance operations. EPIC has also named Eric Kitei a principal in its operations in Southern California.

Naqvi will be based in EPIC’s Concord, Calif., office. He specializes in providing risk management and insurance protection to high net worth individuals and their families.

Naqvi joins EPIC from McDermottCosta Insurance Brokers, where he was a private client advisor. Previously, he held similar positions with Marsh Inc., State Farm Insurance and Les Sawyer Insurance Brokers.

Kitei will focus on the needs of the automotive industry, and be based in EPIC’s Irvine, Calif., office.

He joins EPIC from SullivanCurtisMonroe Insurance Services LLC, where he was senior vice president and automotive practice group leader. He began his insurance career as a marketing representative with Federated Insurance Co.

EPIC is a retail property/casualty and employee benefits insurance brokerage and consulting firm.

Irvine, Calif.-based Burnham Benefits Insurance Services Inc. named Sara Owens vice president of corporate development. She is responsible for leading new business strategy and execution.

Owens has more than 13 years of experience as a sales executive. Prior to joining Burnham, Owens was a senior vice president at HUB International.

Burnham Benefits is a privately held employee benefits consulting and brokerage firm.

Insurance broker Marsh has appointed Kevin Richards to the newly-created role of global head of Cyber Risk Consulting.

Richards will be responsible for leading the strategic development and delivery of Marsh’s cyber risk consulting business worldwide, collaborating with its regional and local cyber risk experts as well as Marsh’s cyber insurance brokerage teams.

Richards joins Marsh from Accenture where he most recently led its North America Security Practice and its Global Security Strategy & Risk Practice.
