Worldwide Facilities has opened a new location in Morehead City, N.C., where Kasey Vaughn joined as senior vice president.

Vaughn brings 17 years of experience in wholesale personal and commercial lines practice. She started her career at Burns & Wilcox as an underwriter/producer and was later promoted to managing director and vice president. Her areas of expertise include personal lines, flood, wind and commercial property.

Worldwide Facilities is a national wholesale insurance broker and managing general agent.

EPIC Insurance Brokers & Consultants has tapped Steve Denton as president of its parent company, EPIC Holdings Inc., reporting to EPIC Holdings CEO John Hahn. Denton joined EPIC on May 1, 2018, and is based in Atlanta.

Denton brings to the role 30 years of risk management, insurance brokerage strategic operations, mergers & acquisitions, business development and executive leadership experience.

As president of EPIC Holdings, Denton will partner with Hahn, Pete Garvey – CEO of the retail operation of EPIC Insurance Brokers & Consultants – EPIC’s regional presidents and the company’s other senior leaders across the country to drive growth in EPIC’s core retail brokerage business as well as in the firm’s specialty programs and products groups. Denton will also focus on assessing existing operations inside EPIC to determine specialty capabilities that should be expanded and identify further opportunities to invest in both industry and product specialty groups.

Denton will join EPIC’s Executive Leadership Team, participate in the national expansion strategy with investor Oak Hill Capital Partners, and become a member of EPIC’s Executive Committee.

Prior to joining EPIC, Denton was CEO of national broker Beecher Carlson, a Brown & Brown subsidiary acquired in 2013. Earlier in his career, he held leadership positions with brokers Marsh & McLennan Co. and Aon Risk Services.

EPIC is a retail property/casualty and employee benefits insurance brokerage and consulting firm with 1,400 employees in 50 offices across the U.S.

S.S. Nesbitt (SSN), a Southeastern insurance agency and division of EBSCO Industries Inc. (EBSCO), has appointed Jason Bosley as vice president in the property and casualty insurance practice.

Bosley began as an underwriter with Travelers and later spent more than five years with J. Smith Lanier, a Marsh & McLennan Agency, where he focused on growing a financial practice targeting community banks and credit unions.

Bosley said he is looking forward to the opportunity to be a part of the growth and expansion plans for S.S. Nesbitt.

S.S. Nesbitt is a privately held independent insurance agency based in Birmingham, Ala., with multiple locations in the Southeastern U.S. These offices provide all lines of insurance in partnership with specialized carriers.

Safeco Insurance has appointed Debra Pooley as vice president and general manager of the Southeast Region.

Pooley replaces Carl Canales who has been named vice president and general manager for the Northeast Region. Pooley is based in Suwanee, Ga.

Pooley most recently served as Regional Operations manager for Safeco in Suwanee, Ga., and is a CPCU and CPA.

Before moving back to Georgia, Pooley was the director of Distribution for Liberty Mutual Business

Insurance leading the state of Oregon, and prior to that, the region vice president directing the underwriting and territory manager teams. She also has served in a variety of roles in finance, including as chief financial officer for Ohio Casualty, a Liberty Mutual regional company.

In business since 1923 and based in Boston. Safeco Insurance sells personal automobile, homeowners and specialty products through a network of more than 10,000 independent insurance agencies throughout the United States. Safeco is a Liberty Mutual Insurance company.

Brightway Insurance has continued its expansion across the country with the opening of two new stores in Florida and South Carolina.

Jeff Howard has opened Brightway, The Howard Agency in Charleston, S.C.

Troy Novotny has opened Brightway, The Novotny Agency in Jacksonville, Fla.

Brightway, a national property/casualty insurance retailer selling through a network of franchised independent stores throughout the country, offers its agency owners support including customer service, carrier relationships, marketing, accounting and technology.

Brightway began franchising operations in 2008 and has since grown to more than 700 people in 19 states serving customers in all 50 states.
