Chicago-based CNA appointed Bruce Dmytrow to senior vice president, Healthcare. He reports to Kevin Smith, president and chief operating officer, CNA Specialty.

Dmytrow joined CNA in 1995, most recently serving as vice president for Aging Services and National Programs. Throughout his career at CNA, he has had oversight for CNA’s enterprise-wide risk control strategic direction for Healthcare, Professional Services and Financial Institutions Customer Segments in the U.S., Canada and Europe.

Prior to joining CNA, Dmytrow served as a manager and healthcare consultant at MMI Companies Inc., and Bio-Med Associates Inc. He also has served as a medical dosimetrist at the University of Chicago Hospitals and Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he utilized his clinical experience to treat and manage oncology patients.

Dmytrow holds the Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) designation.

H.W. Kaufman Group added Josh Hunegs as a corporate vice president at its headquarters in Detroit/Farmington Hills, Michigan.

Hunegs will work on a variety of financial and corporate opportunities, including investments, real estate, foreign exchange, premium financing and acquisitions. He will also manage the investment portfolio for Kaufman subsidiary, Atain Insurance Companies.

Prior to joining Kaufman, Hunegs held several different financial roles with Wells Fargo, most recently as a director, specializing in foreign exchange in Wells Fargo’s Chicago office.

Rob Kepperling has been named Illinois branch manager for Pennsylvania-based Erie Insurance.

Kepperling began his career with Erie Insurance in 2004 in the Claims division. In 2011, he moved into a sales role as a senior district sales manager for Tennessee. In 2014, he held an integral role helping Erie open for business in the state of Kentucky.

Kepperling has earned several insurance designations including associate in claims, associate in insurance services, certified insurance counselor and certified professional insurance agent.

Portage, Michigan-based wholesale insurance organization, J.M. Wilson, promoted Braden Black to brokerage underwriter.

Black is responsible for quoting new and renewal brokerage business and servicing accounts for independent insurance agents in 25 states.

Black joined J.M. Wilson in 2016 as a Personal Lines and Claims intern, before being hired as a full-time property/casualty technician in 2017. An Olivet College graduate, he holds a double major in Insurance & Risk Management and Business Administration.

Kelly Probert Insurance Agency in Webb City, Missouri, hired Debra Holland as producer. She will identify and develop insurance prospects, design insurance plans, and recommend coverages to new and existing clientele.

Prior to joining the agency, Holland worked for more than five years with a State Farm agency.

Owned by Kelly Probert and a member of Valley Insurance Agency Alliance (VIAA), Kelly Probert Insurance Agency was founded in 2013.

POWERS Insurance and Risk Management, based in St. Louis, Missouri, added Jacki Malone as commercial lines account manager.

Malone is responsible for the ongoing management of commercial clients, retaining new and renewal clients, and assisting the company’s producers.

Malone has nearly 25 years of experience in the insurance industry. She has worked on the personal lines side of the industry, and previously managed a commercial lines book of business for various assisted living facilities.

Global broker JLT Specialty USA appointed Kirk Bantz as senior vice president in Columbus, Ohio.

Bantz will work on complex risks for Life Sciences and Manufacturing companies.

Bantz has 25 years of insurance and risk management experience. He comes to JLT from USI. He has also served as director of Risk Management for Cardinal Health, where he was responsible for designing and placing one of the largest stock throughput programs in the history of Lloyd’s of London.

Peoria, Illinois-based RLI Corp. appointed Bob Handzel as vice president, chief claim officer.

Handzel will be responsible for successful claims handling and resolution for the corporation’s diverse insurance programs. He replaces Don Driscoll, who has transitioned to an executive leadership position in RLI’s claim department.

Handzel began his career at RLI in 2006 as director, Casualty Claims, and was promoted to assistant vice president, Claim, in 2012 and vice president, Claim, in 2016.

Handzel has more than 40 years of industry experience. Prior to joining RLI, he held various claims positions at CNA.

Great American Insurance Group, based in Cincinnati, Ohio, hired Greg A. Kelder as divisional vice president of its Environmental Division.

Kelder will manage the Division’s claims department and serve as a member of its senior management team.

Kelder joins Great American from Chubb where he served as vice president of Claims. He has moret than 27 years of environmental claims experience.

Barb Strehmann, chief financial officer at Burr Ridge, Illinois-based Agent Support Network of America (ASNOA), has retired.

Strehmann was the first employee hired upon the creation of ASNOA in 2003. She was the manager of Accounting and subsequently was elevated to comptroller and then to her most recent position as CFO of the ASNOA Group of Companies in January of 2016.

The Agent Support Network of America (ASNOA) is an independent insurance agency network that assists captive agents looking to transition into owning their own business and current independent agents looking to grow their book of business.

Chicago-based medical professional liability provider, ISMIE Mutual Insurance Co., named orthopaedic surgeon Paul H. DeHaan M.D. as chairman.

Dr. DeHaan, previously ISMIE vice chairman, has been elected to succeed Dr. Harold L. Jensen as chairman of its board of directors. As an active ISMIE board member, Dr. DeHaan has been an integral leader of ISMIE’s business development and expansion. As vice chairman, Dr. DeHaan helped lead the strategy for ISMIE’s national expansion that is currently adding new policyholders in 48 states and three U.S. territories.

ISMIE’s leadership was further reinforced with the election of Peter E. Eupierre M.D. as vice-chairman and orthopaedic surgeon Richard A. Geline M.D. as secretary/treasurer.

At its annual meeting, ISMIE also elected two new directors: gastroenterologist Adrienne L. Fregia M.D. and internist Dennis G. Norem M.D.
