Privately held independent insurance broker Lockton named Matt DiGregorio as a senior vice president in its South Florida operation.

DiGregorio will advise clients in private equity, real estate and other industries on employee benefits programs. He will also be responsible for new business development.

DiGregorio has 15 years of experience consulting with clients. Most recently, he was a principal with Mercer Health & Benefits based in Fort Lauderdale.

He is a also member of the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) and the Human Resources Association of Palm Beach County (HRPBC). He also founded and remains a principal at Tri-County Next Generation.

DiGregorio will be based in Lockton’s South Florida office in Miramar.

Alabama-Based ProAssurance Corporation has promoted Edward L. “Ned” Rand, Jr. to chief operating officer.

In this newly created position Rand will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of ProAssurance, reporting directly to Stan Starnes, chairman and chief executive officer. Rand has served for 13 years as the chief financial officer for ProAssurance and he will continue in that role for the near future.

ProAssurance’s line of business leaders will report directly to Rand and through him to Starnes, and line of business leaders will continue to have responsibility over their respective line of business.

Starnes said he is committed to maintaining his current position for the foreseeable future and signed an extension of his five-year employment contract in June 2017.

Jeff Mickletz has joined Everest Insurance as director and senior underwriter within the Excess Casualty division of Everest Specialty Casualty. He will be handling the Southeast territory of the United States.

According to Debbie Weiser, head of Excess Casualty, Mickletz has experience in both national accounts and middle market business in the umbrella and excess space.

Mickletz joins Everest from Aspen Insurance, where he was the CUO for Global Excess Casualty. Previously, Mickletz worked as a senior vice president of National Accounts Excess Casualty and a placement broker at Marsh. He also served as an excess casualty underwriter at AIG.

Mickletz began his career practicing law and transitioned into the industry in casualty claims.

Kathryn Powell Smith, who has led the Personal Lines team for the past four years, has been promoted to a newly created position of director of Sales and Marketing, overseeing the sales team. She previously worked as a curator for Atlanta Global Shapers, as well as a Personal Lines marketing specialist for Chubb.

Dustin Yost, Risk Innovation’s current Territory Marketing manager for Georgia, Alabama and Mississippi, has been promoted to Personal Lines manager. Yost has an extensive background in personal lines insurance.

Risk Innovations has offices in Atlanta and Kansas City, Mo. It has access to a variety of standard as well as excess and surplus lines carriers.

National wholesale insurance brokerage and managing general agent Worldwide Facilities has added George Vogle to its Atlanta office as a senior vice president specializing in professional liability.

Vogle began his career in 1977 with General Reinsurance in Chicago as a casualty facultative reinsurance underwriter.

He moved to Atlanta in 1981 to join Bowring North America, a division of Marsh McLennan, as a casualty surplus lines broker.

In 1998, Vogle joined Swett and Crawford as a professional liability broker, where his team focused on various lines of professional liability including healthcare, cyber liability and insurance agency E&O.
