Cincinnati, Ohio-based Great American Insurance Group added Betty Shepherd as divisional senior vice president of Cyber Liability.

She will oversee the company’s cyber initiatives and existing cyber underwriting operations. Shepherd will also coordinate product management and development for all Great American cyber liability products.

Shepherd has 28 years of industry experience, including 15 years of extensive experience in both the brokerage and carrier sides of cyber liability coverage.

ONI Risk Partners hired Noah Adams as employee benefits consultant in Indianapolis.

Adams advises employee benefits clients on issues relating to wellness, healthcare reform, controlling costs, and employee benefits offerings including a total rewards package to recruit and retain a multi-generational workforce.

Adams previously was a major market sales executive for Paycor.

Jennifer Bussard has been promoted to commercial lines underwriter at the Ohio office of managing general agency and wholesale insurance broker Arlington/Roe.

Bussard holds the Associate in Insurance Services (AIS), Associate in General Insurance (AINS) and Associate in Commercial Underwriting (AU) designations.

Wiley Insurance Agency in West Plains, Mo., hired Melissa Burton as customer service representative/agent.

Burton has earned her Missouri property/casualty license and will sell property/casualty insurance.

Prior to joining Wiley Insurance, Burton worked as a store manager at a cellular telephone company. She has more than 17 years of retail industry experience.

Wiley Insurance Agency, founded in 2014, is a member of Valley Insurance Agency Alliance (VIAA).

The agency is owned by lifelong West Plains’ resident, Traci Wiley, who has 25 years of insurance industry experience in the community.

National wholesale insurance brokerage and managing general agent Worldwide Facilities has added Brad Verret in its Chicago office as a senior vice president specializing in transportation.

Verret began his career in 2003 when he joined CRC Dallas. He moved to CRC Houston in 2010, later leaving for Austin to help open a CRC branch in 2015.

He specializes in the transportation space, specifically in excess truck business.

Josh Jacobsen, senior loss control consultant for Des Moines, Iowa-based Holmes Murphy has received the Region V 2017 Safety Professional of the Year from the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE).

Jacobsen has worked tirelessly to empower and advise up-and-coming safety professionals in ASSE’s student chapter at Iowa State University (ISU). He was able to help the student chapter recover from a period of low attendance and a lack of interest from the student body. Jacobsen took the time to meet with students in the safety program at ISU and helped them grow their chapter by adding 21 new members in the 2016-2017 school year.

Jacobsen’s commitment to occupational safety and health, his yearn for innovation, and passion for empowering the next generation of safety professionals led to his recognition as one of eight ASSE Safety Professionals of the Year.

John Spinner joined the Creative Risk Solutions (CRS) team as an assistant vice president in Des Moines, Iowa. CRS is a subsidiary of Holmes Murphy & Associates.

Spinner will lead the client services team at CRS, where he will play a crucial role in providing clients with an enhanced level of claims service. The division has grown significantly over the last 24 months, and the addition of Spinner reflects that growth.

Spinner, a Des Moines native, brings 20-plus years of experience to CRS. Previously, he was assistant vice president at Businessolver Inc.

XL Catlin added Todd Sutherland in Chicago as regional leader, U.S. North Central.

Sutherland will lead the regional Broker and Client Management team in Chicago.

He joins XL Catlin from Allied World where he led a Chicago-based team in developing and implementing a national distribution plan to grow profitably throughout the region. His 25-year insurance industry career includes tenure with Axis Capital, Kemper Insurance and AIG.

XL Catlin’s North Central Region includes Michigan, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Minnesota, Iowa, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Kentucky and West Virginia.
