Excess and surplus lines carrier Nautilus Insurance Group appointed Thomas Joyce as senior vice president, chief underwriting officer.

Joyce has served as senior vice president, chief claims officer, since joining Nautilus in 2015. He has 30 years of experience in the excess and surplus Lines insurance industry with expertise in leading claims organizations and business strategy.

Joel Lasky, vice president, Claims, will succeed Joyce in the role of chief claims officer.

Specialty insurance brokerage firm, Alliant Insurance Services, has added Rose Calpin-Dewey in its Energy and Marine Group as first vice president. She is based in Houston.

Calpin-Dewey will provide insurance and risk advisory services to energy and marine clients across the United States.

Calpin-Dewey has more than 30 years of risk management experience as an established risk advisor for energy and marine clients. She has extensive experience in underwriting, management, and providing brokerage services for large power generation, oil and gas, and alternative energy clients.

Prior to joining Alliant Insurance Services, Calpin-Dewey was a senior vice president, team leader at a global insurance brokerage firm.

Sonya Barge has joined Everest Insurance’s central region Marketing and Distribution team based in Houston.

Barge is responsible for strengthening client and trading partner relationships in the central region, particularly with Texas-based insureds and insurance intermediaries.

Barge most recently served as an underwriting manager at Missouri Employers Mutual Insurance Co. in St. Louis, where she was responsible for the St. Louis office.

Prior to her role at Missouri Employers Mutual, Barge worked for Texas Mutual Insurance Co. as a senior manager of underwriting in its Houston regional office.

Barge also has held various underwriting and leadership roles at Travelers, Chubb, Atlantic Mutual, and Kemper.
