Starkweather & Shepley Insurance Brokerage Inc., an East Providence, R.I.-headquartered independent insurance agency, has hired Joanmarie Berry as a financial insurance specialist. She is based in Milton, Mass.
In her new role, Berry’s key responsibilities include assisting and offering a range of cost effective commercial insurance and risk management solutions to key segments in the investment community. She will be providing hands-on service to identify the most appropriate coverage to address practice liability needs.
Berry has more than nine years of experience in the financial insurance industry. Prior to joining Starkweather & Shepley, she previously served as a personal sales representative at Liberty Mutual Insurance from 2009 until 2017, according to her LinkedIn profile.
The Norfolk and Dedham Group (N&D), based in Dedham, Mass., has appointed Victor Pepin to its senior leadership team as chief operating officer.
In this newly created role, he will provide executive oversight of its marketing, personal and commercial lines underwriting and product management efforts.
Pepin has more than 25 years of experience in the property and casualty industry and has worked with independent agents throughout the Northeast region. Prior to joining N&D, he held several senior leadership roles. He most recently served as the Northeast regional general manager for Safeco Insurance for more than nine years, according to his LinkedIn profile.
Alliant has added former New Jersey State Senator Jennifer Beck to its regional brokerage team.
As vice president, Beck will provide insurance and risk management services to organizations across the Garden State. Beck joins the firm’s Fair Haven, N.J.-based Alliant/Boynton division.
Beck joins Alliant following a 10-year career as a New Jersey State Senator, most recently representing the 11th District, which includes Monmouth County.
During her time in office, she championed legislation promoting pensions and benefits reform, small business growth and economic revitalization.
She is licensed in property and casualty insurance and employee benefits and also served as president of JAB Marketing, a firm she founded to provide marketing, public relations and promotional support to businesses throughout New Jersey.
Selective Insurance Company of America, a Branchville, N.J.-headquartered subsidiary of Selective Insurance Group Inc., has announced several officer appointments.
Charles Musilli has been appointed to executive vice president and chief human resources officer. Musilli first joined Selective in 1981 as an insurance trainee and has held a variety of regional and corporate strategic and leadership positions, most recently as senior vice president of Distribution Strategies.
Jeffrey Kamrowski has been appointed to president at Mesa Underwriters Specialty Insurance Company (MUSIC). Kamrowski joined Selective in 1988 as a programming analyst and has held a variety of corporate leadership roles, most recently serving as senior vice president and chief underwriting officer of Commercial Lines.
Brian Sarisky has been appointed to senior vice president and chief underwriting officer of Commercial Lines. Sarisky joined Selective in 1991 as a corporate trainee and has held a variety of regional and corporate leadership positions throughout the organization, most recently serving as senior vice president of Commercial Lines Underwriting.
Paul Anderson has been appointed to vice president of Brokerage Underwriting. Anderson joined Selective in 2010 as a segment manager for Selective’s Contractors Strategic Business Unit (SBU), and most recently served as vice president of Contractors SBU. Earlier in his career, he was a sales executive with Eastern Insurance Group.
Carlos Lewis has been appointed to vice president of Regional Claims Operations. Lewis joined Selective in June 2017 as assistant vice president and claims manager. Prior to that, he served as assistant vice president for Safeco Insurance, responsible for a large Auto Physical Damage Center.
Lynn Moretti has been appointed to vice president of Complex Claims and Litigation. Moretti joined Selective in January 2018. Prior to that, she served as vice president of Complex Claims with Liberty Mutual.
Christopher Carpenter has been appointed to assistant vice president of Property Claims. Carpenter joined Selective in January 2018.
Prior to that, he served as property manager of the National Catastrophe Response Team for Travelers Insurance.
