Wholesale insurance broker and program manager, Midlands Management Corp., has added insurance professional Lori Covey to its team in Dallas.

A 25-year veteran of the industry, Covey started her career on the retail side of insurance, which adds value for Midlands agents/brokers. She moved to the wholesale side in early 2013, and previously was a commercial lines broker at US Risk and RPS.

Midlands Management Corporation maintains a specialty in work injury benefits, especially Excess Workers’ Compensation, Texas Non-Subscriber and Occupational Accident.

Dallas-based Towerstone Inc., a national specialty wholesale insurance broker, has added four associates to its wholesale underwriting team.

David Willbanks joined the company as a small commercial underwriter and will connect businesses and insurance companies across the country with expedited access to Towerstone’s specialized coverages typically limited to large companies. He is experienced in hospitality, healthcare and other industries.

Production Underwriter Patrick Claggett also joined Towerstone’s small commercial services team. Together with Willbanks, Claggett will aggregate and package specialized commercial coverages. He has more than 10 years of experience in the insurance industry.

Jim Bishop joined Towerstone to lead its property division to support multi-family developers, owners and operators. Bishop is a former Texas Surplus Lines Association board member who has advanced quickly throughout his career.

Associate Broker Tyler Schultz will support of Bishop’s property practice. Shultz has expertise in areas such as builders’ risk, wrap-up and project-specific coverages for management firms and construction companies.
