INSUREtrust has promoted Will Tschetter to Professional Lines broker.

In his new role, Tschetter will specifically focus on new broker production and will be brokering cyber insurance, technology errors and omissions insurance (tech E&O) and miscellaneous professional liability (MPL) insurance.

Tschetter said the new role will provide him a more direct channel in broking deals and getting deep in policy wording. He will also help to expand the company’s footprint across the country.

Tschetter joined INSUREtrust in June 2016 as account manager.

INSUREtrust, located in the Atlanta metro area, is a national insurance wholesaler specializing in cyber liability insurance.

Rich Saltzman, owner of Brightway, The Saltzman Agency in Tampa, Fla., is now a multi-unit owner with Brightway Insurance with the purchase of a Brightway store located in Largo, Fla.

The new agency has been rebranded to Brightway, The Saltzman Agencies. Saltzman makes the eighth owner in the Brightway system to own more than one store.

Saltzman’s first agency in Tampa opened in June 2016. Brightway, The Saltzman Agencies, offer customized home, condo, renters, auto, flood, RV, motorcycle, boat, ATV and umbrella policies from numerous insurance brands including Nationwide, Progressive and Safeco.

Brightway Insurance is a national property/casualty insurance retailer selling through a network of franchised independent stores nationwide.

Baldwin Krystyn Sherman Partners (BKS-Partners) has promoted Matt Hammer to partner. He will lead the company’s Orlando office.

As a partner, Hammer now has an ownership stake in the firm. His involvement in strategic planning and decision making will continue to expand now that he has an equity interest in BKS.

Hammer joined BKS in 2010 and became a managing advisor in 2014.

Baldwin Krystyn Sherman Partners (BKS-Partners) is an independent insurance brokerage firm providing private risk management, commercial risk management, employee benefits and Vitality programs to clients. The company is headquartered in Tampa, with seven offices in Florida.

BB&T- Oswald Trippe and Company has expanded its Southeast Florida team with the addition of two new associates in the greater Southeast Florida area.

Kelly Matacena has been named a commercial lines producer. Matacena was previously a business development officer at Wells Fargo Insurance Services in Miami and an agent representative at Transamerica in Clearwater.

Also joining the BB&T – Oswald Trippe and Company as a commercial lines producer is Neil Charley. Charley’s background includes 12 years of sales experience with the last four as a producer with Brown & Brown and Gulfshore Insurance. Charley is a certified fire inspector and arson investigator.

BB&T-Oswald Trippe and Company provides insurance and risk-management services to families and businesses throughout Florida. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Branch Banking & Trust Company (BB&T).

The Florida Department of Financial Services has promoted Legislative Affairs Director Elizabeth Boyd to deputy chief financial officer.

In this new role, Boyd will oversee the Department’s legislative affairs, research and planning, cabinet and communications offices, as well as the Division of Consumer Services and Division of Unclaimed Property.

Boyd joined DFS in September 2011 as deputy Legislative Affairs director. As deputy director, she aided in the development of DFS’s legislative agenda and advocated for its initiatives in front of the Florida Legislature and other stakeholders, according to DFS. In this capacity, she assisted in the passing of legislation which created a homeowner claims bill of rights and the implementation of transparency reforms to Florida’s state contracting laws.

Boyd was promoted to Legislative Affairs director in December 2014, where she’s since served as the chief financial officer’s principal legislative advisor and lead lobbyist. As director, Boyd has worked on several successful legislative efforts, including banning the medical billing practice of “balance billing.”

Prior to joining the department, Boud held legislative roles with the Department of Management Services, within the Executive Office of Governor Jeb Bush, and for the Florida Lottery.

The Department’s current Deputy Legislative Affairs Director, BG Murphy, has been promoted to Legislative Affairs director. Murphy joined the Department in February 2015, following his service as legislative assistant to Rep. Halsey Beshears. In 2014, Murphy led the successful campaign of Rep. Brad Drake. Murphy has also worked in management and corporate relations in the private sector.
