Dr. Shealynn Buck has joined Lockton Benefit Group in Dallas as chief medical officer.

She joins the Lockton Health Risk Solutions team and will advise employers on health strategies that improve employee wellbeing, reduce costs and improve productivity.

Most recently, she served as vice president of health integration at Marsh & McLennan Agency. She previously was executive director of DeKalb Regional Health System’s WorksWell and medical director of the system’s Wellness Center. She has spoken extensively for organizations and with the news media on health issues including stress, disease prevention, and transfusions.

Buck is a licensed physician, holding a Doctor of Medicine (MD) from the Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta. She is Board Certified in Clinical Pathology by the American Board of Pathology, and is a member of the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (ACOEM).

Texas-based independent insurance agency Brady, Chapman, Holland & Associates Inc. has hired Julie Mechura as an employee benefits risk advisor in Houston.

She will focus on sustaining and developing client relationships, while functioning as the client’s risk advisor.

Mechura has more than 24 years of experience working in employee benefits including account management, marketing, and sales operations.

BCH also added Kevin Kimmel as commercial lines account executive.

Kimmel has more than 12 years of experience working in commercial insurance including account management, marketing, and sales roles.

Paul Martin joined Texas-based independent MGA and wholesaler, Myron F. Steves and Co., as director of Education and Development. He will also oversee the company’s operations in San Antonio.

Martin most recently served as vice president of sales at TrustedChoice.com, where he had the opportunity to advise independent agents throughout the United States. He also developed extensive knowledge and expertise while operating his own company, PZ Martin Education Strategies, where he designed and delivered customized continuing education for insurance agents and brokers as well as specialty insurers.

Martin previously served as the director of Education and CE Programs manager for the Independent Insurance Agents of Texas, and as assistant vice president of Staff Development for Texas Mutual Insurance Co.

Martin holds the CPCU professional insurance designation.

MarketScout, the Dallas, Texas-based insurance exchange and specialty MGA, has expanded its Professional Liability Division with the addition of Michele Vincent as vice president, healthcare practice leader.

Vincent joins the professional liability practice with more than 20 years of experience in underwriting and broking healthcare related risks with MGA, wholesale and agency based companies. Prior to joining MarketScout, Vincent was vice president – senior broker and underwriter for U.S. Risk where she managed its Houston healthcare division.

Vincent has earned both the Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) and Certified Insurance Services Representative (CISR) professional designations and will be based in Houston.
