Brightway Insurance Co-Founder and Chairman David Miller has transitioned to executive chairman and Michael Miller, formerly vice chairman and co-founder, will take over as chairman of the Florida-based company.

David Miller announced the change in the company’s leadership to employees and agency owners on Brighway’s ninth anniversary on Aug. 18. The changes were effective as of Aug. 21.

David Miller said the two brothers have worked side-by-side building the business.

As executive chairman, David will work with Michael and the company’s leadership team to continue to refine growth strategies. As chairman, Michael will oversee the execution of those strategies.

The company’s leadership team also consists of President Talman Howard; CFO Bob Taylor; VP, Customer Experience Kris Azar; and VP, Marketing Leslie Kolleda.

Brightway Insurance is a national property/casualty insurance retailer selling through a network of franchised independent agencies throughout the country.

EBSCO Industries Inc. has hired insurance veteran Phillip Moultrie as vice president of client services for its insurance brokerage, S.S. Nesbitt (SSN), based in Birmingham, Ala.

Moultrie’s immediate focus will be on ensuring that the agency delivers its services to its clients and equipping the service team to care for client needs. He will also manage the clients’ account managers in the property/casualty practice area.

Moultrie has more than 30 years of experience in insurance and risk management. He worked with Liberty Mutual as a producer and service supervisor, and with Marsh & McLennan Companies as a senior client manager.

Moultrie came to SSN from Russo Corp., a foundation and site work contractor, where he was a risk manager and director of safety. Prior to that, he provided risk management services for Walter Energy, a metallurgical coal producer for the steel industry.
