Appleton, Wisconsin-based SECURA Insurance promoted Marty Arnold to senior vice president and chief underwriting officer, and Garth Wicinsky to senior vice president and chief administrative officer.
Arnold joined SECURA in 2000 as chief actuary and added the role of reinsurance buyer in 2003. He most recently served as senior vice president – underwriting, directing the company’s commercial, personal, farm-ag, and specialty underwriting divisions, as well as Reinsurance and Risk Management. Prior to SECURA, he worked for the St. Paul Cos.
He holds the FCAS (Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society), CERA (Chartered Enterprise Risk Analyst), and Associate in Reinsurance (ARe) designations.
Wicinsky joined SECURA’s Human Resources division in 1996 and was promoted to vice president – human resources in 2002. With his promotion to SVP and chief administrative officer, in addition to his HR leadership function, he oversees marketing, research and development, and agency training.
St. Louis, Mo.-based Safety National Casualty Corp. promoted Cyndee Morton, Mitch Neuhaus and Keith Rogers to senior management positions.
Morton has been promoted to senior vice president – operations. Morton is responsible for senior management oversight of the policy services administration and the information systems departments as well as leadership of the operations committee.
Neuhaus has been promoted to senior vice president – claims. Neuhaus is responsible for overall leadership and management of the claims department, including claim administration and third-party administrator oversight.
Rogers has been promoted to senior vice president and chief actuary. Rogers is responsible for overall leadership and management of the actuarial department, including pricing and reserving.
Managing general agency and surplus lines broker J.M. Wilson has hired Seth Mahaffey as assistant transportation underwriter in Westerville, Ohio.
Mahaffey is responsible for quoting new and renewal transportation accounts, setting up and binding policies, assisting underwriters, and serving independent insurance agents in Ohio, Kentucky Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia and Illinois.
Mark T. Conklin was named divisional president of Great American Professional Risk Insurance Services (GAPRIS), succeeding Frankie Honeycutt, who has retired.
Conklin has 22 years of industry experience. He joined the company in January 2015 as divisional senior vice president, and most recently served as divisional executive vice president. Conklin previously worked for Marsh USA Inc.
Cincinnati, Ohio-based Great American Professional Risk Insurance Services is a member of the Great American Insurance Group.
XL Catlin promoted Angie Strack to senior vice president and underwriting manager for its global risk management division’s North Central Region.
Strack will manage and develop XL Catlin’s U.S. risk management business, customizing casualty programs, including workers’ compensation, general liability and commercial auto insurance coverages, for clients throughout the U.S. north central region, including the greater Chicago-area and upper Midwest.
She joined XL Catlin in 2011 bringing more than 17 years of underwriting and broker management experience, including 10 years as a casualty underwriter with Zurich.
XL Catlin also appointed Karl Fischbach as head of binding authority and brokerage for its excess and surplus insurance operation.
Fischbach will also continue in his role as relationship leader for wholesale, programs and binding.
He has 24 years of experience as a (re)insurance professional. Fischbach assumed his broker management and business development responsibilities following Catlin Group’s integration with XL Group in 2015. He joined Catlin in 2014.
Kenneth Cooksey joined Newport Beach, Calif.-based Alliant Insurance Services Inc. as first vice president in its Alliant Americas division.
Cooksey will design and deploy a range of risk management and property/casualty insurance solutions to clients in the Minneapolis market and throughout the Midwest.
Cooksey joins Alliant with experience servicing clients from a broad range of industries. Prior to joining Alliant, he held a senior vice president position with a national insurance brokerage.
He holds Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designations.
Cooksey has also written and published various thought leadership articles in noted industry trade publications.
