Eastern Insurance Group, a Natick, Mass.-headquartered subsidiary of Eastern Bank, has hired Mark J. Goyer as vice president and sales executive within Eastern Benefits Group, the insurance firm’s employee benefits division.
Goyer, who works out of the Norwell, Mass., office, brings nearly 20 years of experience in employee benefits and group insurance products to his new role. He is experienced in traditional, self and alternate funding of medical plan designs.
Prior to joining Eastern Benefits Group, Goyer worked as a group sales representative at Guardian Life in Phoenix, Ariz. After moving back to New England, he was in a similar role at Assurant Employee Benefits. Most recently, he has worked in new business development at Benemax Inc.
Clark Insurance, a Portland, Maine-headquartered independent insurance agency, has promoted two employees and hired one.
Tricia Spencer has been promoted to business insurance department coordinator. Spencer initially joined the agency in 2012. In her new role, she will be responsible for work flow of the agency’s Maine operations.
Sandy Trottier has also been promoted to coordinator of administrative support and facilities. In this role, Trottier will be responsible for managing the communications staff, facilities and administrative services.
Additionally, Kelly Michaud has joined the agency as an account manager in the business insurance department. Michaud has been in the insurance business since 1994.
Sullivan Insurance Group, a Worcester, Mass.-headquartered, full-service insurance and risk management firm providing property and casualty, employee benefits and personal insurance for individuals and businesses, has hired Barbara Amankwah to its personal lines department.
Amankwah previously worked at Commerce, now Mapfre, as well as Eastern Insurance. She is licensed in property and casualty in the state of Massachusetts and earned the Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR) designation.
Markel Corporation, a financial holding company headquartered in Richmond, Va., has named Ashley Dillon underwriting assurance director on the product line leadership team.
Dillon is located in Markel’s headquarters in Richmond, Va., and reports to Chief Underwriting Officer Robin Russo.
In her new role, she will focus on enhancing, streamlining and monitoring the underwriting practices in the U.S., Bermuda, and, on a collaborative basis, Markel’s London-based insurance operations. She will help identify best practices and improve underwriting, pricing and peer review processes.
Dillon has more than 13 years of experience and has been a member of Markel’s internal audit team since 2007.
Crystal & Company, a New York-based strategic risk and insurance advisor, has hired Ciro Giue as an executive director and national practice leader for voluntary and worksite employee benefit solutions.
Giue brings 10 years of industry experience to his new role.
In this role, he is responsible for managing and expanding client relationships, as well as developing and implementing multi-year voluntary and worksite employee benefit services for clients.
Previously, Giue served as the Northeast practice leader for voluntary and employee benefits at HUB International.
York Risk Services Group (York), a Parsippany, N.J.-based national provider of claims management, managed care, specialized loss adjusting, alternative risk programs, pool administration and other insurance services, has hired Jason Galiano as vice president of sales for York’s Public Entity division.
York Public has been a public entity partner for more than 50 years, partnering with more than 5,800 public entities and public employers, including states, cities, schools, counties, utilities and parks.
In his new role, Galiano will be responsible for strengthening and broadening existing customer relationships and for driving growth through the development of new business. His focus will be on the Eastern half of the U.S., with a particular focus in the Northeast.
He brings more than 20 years of experience in managed care and partnering with public agencies to this role, according to Jon Lord, managing vice president of sales for Public Entity.
Prior to joining York, Galiano was group vice president of sales for Concentra.
Going forward, York Public Entity plans to continue expanding its presence in the Northeast.
