Global insurance brokerage Hub International Northeast Limited (Hub Northeast) has hired Timothy McNulty as an assistant vice president in its employee benefits division.

In this role, McNulty will be based in the firm’s Summit, N.J., office and will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic employee benefits solutions with a focus on the New Jersey market.

He holds more than three decades of experience in the insurance industry, most recently serving as a senior sales executive with MagnaCare in Tinton Falls, N.J. Prior to that, he was a senior sales executive with Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey for 27 years.

Henderson Brothers Inc., a Pittsburgh, Penn., based independent broker in the insurance, employee benefits and financial services industries, has hired Thomas Quealy as a consultative associate in its consultative department.

In this role, Quealy will be responsible for providing compliance assistance and training, as well as helping to manage Henderson Brothers’ online resources.

With a team of more than 140, Henderson Brothers is the largest independent broker in the Greater Pittsburgh region and serves a diverse client base globally. Henderson Brothers’ product offerings include property/casualty insurance, employee benefits, retirement planning, wealth management, fiduciary services, captive management, enterprise risk management, loss control, claims management, strategic planning, succession planning and personal lines.

Hub International Limited (Hub), a Chicago, Ill., headquartered insurance brokerage and consultancy firm, has appointed Mary Aikins, RN, BA, CCM, as vice president and practice leader of health and performance for the organization’s East region.

In this role, Aikins will be responsible for helping organizations that work with Hub to improve the health and performance of their employees, while improving the health and performance of their company’s bottom line.

She will report to Joe Torella, president of employee benefits in the East region and will be based out of Hub’s Summit, N.J., office.

“Employers are facing greater challenges than ever before and require robust data to manage their businesses while delivering effective tools that their employees can leverage in leading healthier and more productive lives with greater engagement and work-life balance,” Torella said in a company press release. “Most firms have been stuck on the outdated concept of ‘wellness’ without the right results. Mary’s role will help elevate the performance of our clients in this area.”

Aikins was formerly with Princeton Healthcare Systems, an accountable care organization and clinically integrated network, where she focused on managing the organization’s efforts to coordinate care for high-risk patients through a team-based approach. Prior to that, Aikins managed population health as well as care coordination and practice transformation for Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey.

Selective Insurance Group Inc., a Branchville, N.J., headquartered holding company for 10 property and casualty insurance companies, appointed Mark A. Wilcox as executive vice president and chief financial officer effective Jan. 1, 2017.

In this role, Wilcox will succeed Dale A. Thatcher, who retired after 16 years as Selective’s CFO on Sept. 1, 2016.

Wilcox currently serves as senior vice president, corporate controller and chief accounting officer of RenaissanceRe Holdings Ltd. and is responsible for accounting policy, internal, external and regulatory financial reporting, budgeting, global tax, global actuarial and investor relations.

He previously held senior financial positions at PriceWaterhouseCoopers LLP and Bank of America Corporation.

Lemonade, a newly licensed insurance company for homeowners and renters, appointed William D. Latza as its chief compliance officer and general counsel.

Latza joins Lemonade after spending 25 years as a partner at Stroock & Stroock & Lavan LLP, where he specialized in insurance law. He served as Lemonade’s external counsel since its founding in 2015.

“What Lemonade is doing in New York from a legal perspective is remarkable,” Latza said in a company press release. “Working hand in glove with New York regulators to get licensed as a carrier in order to provide consumers with a new kind of insurance company that celebrates social good, is a milestone for the industry nationwide.”

Last month, Lemonade announced it had been licensed as a full-stack insurance carrier by New York state.
