Erie Indemnity, the managing company for Erie Insurance, has named Timothy G. NeCastro as Erie Insurance’s president and CEO-designate effective June 1.
NeCastro is a 20-year veteran of the company. He will succeed current President and CEO Terrence W. Cavanaugh, who previously announced his retirement for later this year.
Since 2010, NeCastro has held the position of senior vice president and regional officer of Erie Insurance’s west region. This encompasses the sales and agency responsibilities in the western half of the insurer’s 12-state footprint.
Prior to joining Erie in 1996, NeCastro held positions as director of finance at Plastek Group and as senior manager at Ernst & Young.
Assurant Inc. announced the appointment of Richard S. Dziadzio to the role of chief financial officer and treasurer.
Dziadzio joins Assurant from QBE North America where he most recently served as CFO. He will report to Assurant President and CEO Alan B. Colberg.
Dziadzio succeeds Christopher J. Pagano, who has served as CFO and treasurer since 2014 and will move into the newly created role of chief risk officer.
QBE North America said it has partnered with an executive search firm to assist in finding a successor to Dziadzio.
Liberty Mutual announced three senior appointments to its Commercial Insurance operating unit.
Mike Fallon was appointed president, National Insurance, which helps large and specialized businesses with risk management. Fallon joined Liberty Mutual in 1993 and, most recently, served as chief financial officer, Commercial Insurance.
Steve McAnena was appointed president, Business Insurance, which serves small and mid-size accounts. McAnena joined Liberty Mutual in 1993 and, most recently, served as president, Liberty Mutual Benefits.
Tracy Ryan was appointed chief claims officer. Ryan joined Liberty Mutual in 1994 and, most recently, served as chief product officer, Commercial Insurance.
All three executives report to Paul Condrin, president, Liberty Mutual Commercial Insurance.
Insurance brokerage Integro has hired Thomas Angiolino as principal for the firm’s marine practice. He is based in New York City.
Angiolino brings more than 35 years of insurance industry experience to Integro, with primary focus on marine and energy placements.
Angiolino joins Integro from Lockton Companies, where he served as marine unit manager. He spent much of his career at Johnson & Higgins (hull & machinery team leader) and Willis (manager of hull, P&I and liability groups).
R-T Specialty LLC, the wholesale brokerage unit of Ryan Specialty Group LLC, has hired J.C. Sparling as executive vice president. He is based in New York City.
Sparling is a seasoned property wholesale broker who has been in the business for over 25 years. He comes from CRC Insurance Services where he was senior vice president and senior property broker. He has also held senior positions at Mercator Risk Services and Marsh.
Ironshore Inc. has named Shawn Homand as chief underwriting officer of Global Property to oversee underwriting responsibilities and global product growth strategies throughout Ironshore’s property platform.
Homand’s career spans 30 years in various regional management and underwriting positions for property risks. Most recently, he was property underwriting officer, Americas Region, for AIG Property and Casualty.
Homand will be based in Ironshore’s Boston office, reporting to Tony Mammolite, president of Global Property.
Markel Corporation has hired Howard Lee as senior underwriter for its trade credit and political risk business in the U.S.
Lee will be responsible for business development, strategic planning, expanding broker relationships and servicing an expanding client portfolio.
Lee joins from Chubb’s political and trade credit division, where he worked as senior underwriter since 2010. He previously spent eight years as divisional risk manager at FCIA.
Program Brokerage Corporation, a wholesale brokerage/managing general agency (MGA) and a subsidiary of Hub International Northeast, has hired Matthew Fry as assistant vice president. He is based in New York City.
Fry holds 10 years of industry experience. Most recently, he was assistance vice president of Environmental and Client Advisor with Marsh.
