Lockton Companies announced Karmanee Governor has joined its Nashville office as an account executive in the Healthcare Practice. She will work with clients such as hospitals, long-term care facilities, and physician groups to develop insurance programs to best manage professional liability and property and casualty issues.

Governor comes to Lockton with nearly 20 years of insurance consulting experience. Most recently, Governor was vice president in the national healthcare practice for Beecher Carlson Insurance Services. Prior to that, she worked for Aon Risk Services as a senior account executive.

Governor received a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology from Rutgers State University.

Brentwood Reinsurance Intermediaries Inc. (BRII), a provider of insurance and reinsurance brokerage services, has appointed William (Bill) J. Hodson, of Burlington, N.C., as senior vice president.

According to Brentwood Reinsurance President Keith Fawcett, Hodson will broaden the reinsurance products and capabilities offered through BrentRe. His focus will be placing and servicing specialty lines reinsurance for traditional carriers, program-oriented business produced through managing general agents, and alternative risk reinsurance placements for captives and risk retention groups. He will also work with diverse groups to create insurance coverages and bring them to market, Fawcett said.

Hodson began his reinsurance career with the G. L. Hodson & Son Inc. organization after an internship for reinsurance training in London with C. E. Heath, Ltd., and two syndicates at Lloyd’s of London. Hodson worked for G. L. Hodson & Son Inc. and its successor Willis Re Inc. in the Atlanta, New York, and Burlington/McLeansville, N.C., offices.

More recently, Hodson worked for Axiom Re, in Stoney Creek, N.C., and also helped establish Goss Re/Advocate Re in Dallas.

Hodson came to BrentRe from USA Risk Intermediaries, the reinsurance intermediary platform for USA Risk Group in Greenville, S.C.

Assurant, Inc. has appointed Ajay Waghray to the role of chief technology officer and to the company’s management committee. In this newly created role, Waghray will drive technology strategy and align IT with business objectives across Assurant’s global enterprise. Waghray will be based in Atlanta and report to Assurant President and CEO Alan B. Colberg.

Most recently, Waghray served as chief information officer of Verizon Enterprise Solutions, which provides products and services to a global customer base. He stepped into the role in 2012, leading the global information technology strategy, systems portfolio development and operations for the then newly created organization. Prior to this, Waghray served as CIO for Verizon Wireless. Waghray started his wireless career with Bell Atlantic Mobile in 1997, which later became part of Verizon Wireless.

Assurant, Inc. is a global provider of risk management products, focusing on the housing and lifestyle markets. It offers mobile device protection; vehicle protection; pre-funded funeral insurance; renters insurance; lender-placed homeowners insurance; and mortgage valuation and field services.

Ironshore Inc. announced that Adriana Narino has joined as head of Surety for the Latin American Group, expanding capabilities for this specialty sector within the region. Narino has more than 20 years’ experience in underwriting surety coverages for global insurance companies throughout the region. She will be based in the Miami office, reporting to Pepe Marquez, managing director for Ironshore in Latin America & Caribbean.

Narino joins from Swiss Reinsurance Co., where she was vice president and senior underwriter for more than 15 years, responsible for bonds and trade credit programs throughout Latin America and the Caribbean, including Colombia, Peru, Bolivia, and Ecuador, among others. Previously, she was regional executive of Credit and Surety at Aon Benfield Colombia S.A. for Latin America with responsibilities for project development and reinsurance analysis of treaty, facultative and special risk business lines.

Educated in Bogota, Colombia, Narino was also National manager, Bonds for Compania Mundial de Seguros S.A. and served as Analyst with Aseguradora Colseguros S.A.

Ironshore Inc.’s group for Latin American markets was established in 2012 and today its Miami-based operations underwrite insurance coverage throughout the regional distribution platform across all property and casualty lines of business.
