John Q. Doyle, who was ousted from the executive ranks of American International Group in a management shakeup in December, is joining global insurance broker Marsh as president, effective April 15.
In this newly-created leadership role at Marsh, Doyle will oversee Marsh’s global brokerage businesses. He will join Marsh’s Executive Committee as well as the Executive Committee of Marsh & McLennan Companies.
Doyle will report to Peter Zaffino, CEO of Marsh, and chairman of Risk and Insurance Services, and will be based in Marsh’s New York office.
An insurance industry leader for more than two decades, Doyle most recently was CEO for AIG’s commercial insurance businesses worldwide. He was responsible for AIG’s property, casualty, financial lines, specialty lines, institutional markets and mortgage guaranty products and services. Previously, Doyle served as president and CEO of Chartis U.S.
AIG CEO Peter Hancock announced a management team realignment last December that resulted in departures of several high-ranking executives. In addition to Doyle, those leaving included CFO David Herzog; Jose Hernandez, CEO Asia Pacific; and Eric Martinez, executive vice president Global Claims and Operations.
Doyle joined AIG in 1986 and has run units including National Union Fire Insurance Co. and American Home Assurance Co. He was named to AIG’s executive team in June, 2013 by then-CEO Robert Benmosche. He was given additional responsibilities by Hancock in September, 2014 after he took over from Benmosche as CEO.
Richard Kerr, founder and chief executive officer of MarketScout, the national electronic insurance exchange and specialty MGA headquartered in Dallas, has been elected to the Risk Management and Insurance Executive Council of the Florida State University College of Business.
The Risk Management and Insurance Executive Council works with the Florida State University/Dr. William T. Hold risk management and insurance program to offer superior content and quality while also providing students with a forum for networking with industry executives.
Kerr founded the insurance distribution and underwriting company MarketScout in 2000. The firm is a Lloyd’s coverholder and MGA for U.S. insurers. MarketScout owns and operates the MarketScout Exchange and other online and traditional underwriting and distribution venues.
Alternative Service Concepts (ASC), a workers’ compensation and property and casualty third-party claims administrator, has promoted Tammy Moore and Jeff Logsdon to company assistant vice president.
Promoted from their positions as claim managers, Logsdon and Moore will be responsible for managing multiple ASC claim offices, and partnering with clients.
Logsdon will be based in Louisville, Ky., and Moore in Nashville. Both will report to COO Pam Finch.
Moore joined the organization in 1998 where she began serving as a claim adjuster, later promoted to claim supervisor, and then claim manager. She brings 28 years of claims risk management experience to this role working for companies such as Dollar General Corporation, Willis Corroon, and the ITT-Hartford Group.
Logsdon joined the organization in 2011 where he began serving as a claim supervisor and later promoted to claim manager. He brings more than 18 years of claims experience to this role beginning as a claim adjuster for Meridian Insurance followed by AIG, Underwriters Safety & Claims, and Nationwide Insurance.
ASC is headquartered in Nashville.
Hub International Florida, part of Hub International Limited, has hired Teresa Boyd as senior vice president of Marketing, responsible for overseeing the marketing operations for the production teams in the Hub Florida offices. She will be based in the Orlando office.
Boyd most recently was executive marketing director with Willis of Florida, based in Tampa, where she was responsible for oversight of the marketing operations for the production teams in seven offices throughout the state.
Boyd has over two decades of insurance experience and expertise in placing insurance programs for clients in various industries such as construction, real estate, technology, hospitality, food and beverage, and retail.
Based in Chicago, Hub International Limited is a global insurance brokerage providing property/casualty, life and health, employee benefits, investment and risk management products and services through offices located in the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico.
The Professional Insurance Agents of Tennessee hired Jessie Litkenhus as program administrator. Her primary responsibilities will be coordinating the association’s educational programs, events, and marketing efforts.
Litkenhus graduated from Murray State University, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Relations.
Previously she served as the Marketing manager for SFW in Burley, Idaho. With SFW, her central focus was creating and executing marketing strategies, content marketing, event coordination, and managing all social media platforms.
