J.M. Wilson has added Kayley Dana to the firm’s Charleston, S.C., office as transportation underwriter. Dana is responsible for quoting new and renewal transportation risks, and serving independent insurance agents in Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee.
Prior to joining J.M. Wilson, Dana was an underwriting intern at an insurance company in Raleigh, N.C. She graduated from Appalachian State University in May, with a double major in Insurance and Risk Management, and Finance and Banking.
Dana has started her CPCU designation and plans to further her education in insurance.
J.M. Wilson is a managing general agency and surplus lines broker providing independent insurance agents access to specialty markets for both personal and commercial lines.
Crawford & Company has named Dan Daniel as vice president, U.S. Property & Casualty client development. He formerly served as vice president of Catastrophe Services for U.S. Property & Casualty for the company. Daniel reports to Larry Thomas, CEO, U.S. Property & Casualty and to Dr. Emanuel Lauria, executive vice president and chief client officer, Global Client Development.
In his new role Daniel will lead the U.S. Property & Casualty Business Development team with responsibility for new and improved client relations, as well as for growth in profitable revenue. He will continue to have oversight of Crawford’s catastrophe response for the U.S. and the Caribbean. Daniel is based in Crawford’s world headquarters in Atlanta.
Daniel’s loss adjusting experience includes serving as a catastrophe adjuster, branch adjuster, branch manager, regional manager and senior vice president of centralized services, which included overseeing catastrophe services.
Before joining Crawford in 2015, he provided general claims management consulting services in Canada, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, and Latin America, and earlier held various technical and operations management positions with a global claims management firm for 15 years.
Daniel holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Texas A&M University, as well as Associate in Claims and Legal Principles Claims Specialist designations from the Insurance Institute of America.

JLT Re, the London-based reinsurance broker and consultancy, announced it is continuing to develop and diversify its Programs and Binding Authority Division with three new appointments.
Mark Sleet has joined from Miller where he specialized in casualty business; Sleet has been appointed as partner and will be focused on general casualty.
Lee Collins has joined from Oxford Insurance Brokers Ltd. where he was a director and has been appointed as partner.
Adrian Steele will be joining the JLT Re team from Oxford Insurance Brokers Ltd. in August 2015. Both Collins and Steele will be focusing on specialty and professional lines.
Neill Cotton, joined JLT Re to lead the Programs and Binding Authority Division late last year.
Commenting on these recent appointments, Cotton said, the division previously “had a strong property focus and tended to specialize in a limited number of other product lines. We are now working to diversify and develop the team both from within and with a number of key hires.”
W.R. Berkley Corp. has formed Berkley Global Product Recall Management, a W.R. Berkley company, to aid all types of businesses throughout the world in the prevention and management of product recall incidences. Products and services will be available through the W.R. Berkley network of companies.
Louis Lubrano has been named president of Berkley Global Product Recall Management. Lubrano has more than 30 years of property casualty insurance industry experience, including over 10 years as a leader in crisis management.
Philip Rorty has been appointed chief underwriting officer. He brings to that position nearly 40 years of insurance and risk management experience as both an insurance leader and a corporate risk manager.
Tamra Maupin is joining the new operating unit as chief operating officer, with more than 15 years of experience in the insurance market.
According to William R. Berkley, the chairman of the board and chief executive officer of W.R. Berkley Corp., Lubrano has expertise and experience in developing products to contain costs in the event of a loss and also in providing consultancy services that can help in the prevention of a loss.
