Wells Fargo Insurance has named Chris Calvert head of its newly established client experience team.
Calvert will lead a team focused on strengthening customer service. She is based in Highlands Ranch, Colo., and she reports to Todd Wartchow, head of insurance strategy and analytics.
She has been with Wells Fargo for 25 years. Calvert’s previous roles in the company include community bank president for the Denver region, and multiple leadership positions within finance. She was most recently finance manager for Wells Fargo Insurance.
San Francisco, Calif.-based Wells Fargo is part of Wells Fargo & Co. (NYSE: WFC).
Compass Specialty Risk Insurance Services LLC has named Desi Ramos vice president of transportation and practice leader.
Ramos will spearhead the new office in Sacramento, Calif.
Ramos has experience in the wholesale marketplace, most recently as transportation broker at Hull & Co. in Stockton.
Compass is a wholesale broker and managing general agent.
Flanigan-Leavitt Insurance Agency has hired Kyle Nielsen and Kelley Shewmaker in the firm’s Reno, Nev., office.
Nielsen is a sales executive focusing on restaurants, retail, construction and auto repair. Shewmaker is a property/casualty agent.
Prior to insurance, Nielsen operated a golf resort and ski area in northern California.
Shewmaker has 20 years of insurance experience. He worked with California Insurance Group. Following CIG, he became a captive co-agent for Church Mutual.

MOC Insurance Services made several additions to its California team.
Leanna Dole was named account executive. Dole’s focus is on personal, high net worth accounts. She has 25 years of industry expertise. Prior to MOC, she worked for NFP P&C, and Andreini & Co.
Emmett Hollins was named a property/casualty broker. His focus is in helping clients evaluate their exposures. Hollins has more than 20 years of experience.
Tyler Chalk was named business development executive. Chalk focuses on creating new client opportunities, and he’s been been in insurance for more than 15 years.
MOC is a privately held independent brokerage.
The Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation has named three new members to its Western division board.
The new IICF members are: Sanford Michelman, chairman at Michelman & Robinson LLP; Cynthia Morrison, senior vice president and chief financial officer at Topa Insurance Group; and Connie Taylor, zone officer at the Navigators Group.
Michelman, Morrison and Taylor will assist the Western division board in its responsibility of managing the division’s grant focus areas, grant guidelines, events and volunteer activities.
The board oversees the organization’s operation in Los Angeles and throughout California, where the division is headquartered, as well as in IICF’s Colorado and Arizona chapters.
IICF’s Western division board membership is comprised of 36 senior leaders who work in or serve the insurance industry in the Western U.S. IICF has contributed more than $23.5 million in grants to charities and nearly 200,000 volunteer hours to community nonprofit organizations. IICF is a registered not-for-profit organization.
Berkley FinSecure has named Peter D. Verretto Northwest territory director.
Verretto will focus on underwriting and sales to financial institutions through the company’s network of agents and brokers in the newly expanded Northwest territory. Working out of the company’s Seattle, Wash., office, Verretto will be responsible for Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming and Alaska.
Verretto has 23 years of experience in the insurance industry. Prior to Berkley FinSecure, he was the Northwest region account executive for a large insurer.

The American Insurance Association has named Wesley R. McClelland vice president for federal affairs.
McClelland assumes the AIA post effective Sept. 8.
He currently serves as senior policy advisor in the office of House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif).
Before joining McCarthy’s staff in 2011, McClelland was senior policy advisor to Rep. John Campbell (R-Calif.) advising the House Financial Services Committee Member during the 2008 financial crisis and subsequent Dodd-Frank financial regulatory reform debate and legislation.
He previously served as legislative assistant to Rep. Bill Thomas (R-Calif.).
AIA is a property/casualty insurance trade group that represents roughly 325 insurers that write more than $127 billion in annual premiums.
