Robert L. Nash, president of the New Hampshire Association of Insurance Agents (NHAIA), has announced his retirement effective Dec. 31, 2014. Nash, president of NHAIA since 2001, has spent 43 years in association management.

In 2011, Nash received the Maurice G. Herndon Legislative award from the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of America (IIABA), its highest award for excellence in government affairs.

The Property Casualty Insurers Association of America (PCI) elected new officers to its board of governors during its annual meeting in October.

Terrence W. Cavanaugh, president and CEO of Erie Insurance Group, was elected as PCI’s chair; Jim Wallace, chairman, president and CEO of GuideOne Insurance, was elected first vice chair; and John Barbagallo, president, Commercial Lines Group of Progressive Insurance Group, was elected second vice chair.

Insurance Agents & Brokers (IA&B), a tri-state trade organization based in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, has hired Keith E. Foster as chief financial officer/chief operating officer.

Foster was formerly employed by Updegraff & Ruhl, Certified Public Accountants, in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania, and Martin M. Sacks & Associates, Certified Public Accountants, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

IA&B – through its partnership of agents’ associations in Delaware, Maryland and Pennsylvania – offers professional training, government affairs work, agency tool development, communications, and carrier and legal advocacy for more than 1,400 member agencies.

Amica Mutual Insurance Co. in Lincoln, Rhode Island, announced that Robert A. DiMuccio, chairman, president and CEO of Amica Mutual, was honored with the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Award at the NAACP Providence Branch Freedom Fund Dinner in October.

Amica Mutual said the award is in recognition of commitment and dedication to overcoming obstacles that face the community, particularly those affecting African-Americans and other minorities. DiMuccio accepted the award on behalf of all Amica employees.

XL Group’s North America Property & Casualty (NAPC) insurance business has promoted Donna Nadeau to the position of chief operating officer, reporting to Joe Tocco, NAPC chief executive. Nadeau previously served as NAPC’s chief actuary. Nadeau assumes the COO role previously held by Mike Garceau, recently named chief financial officer of XL Group’s global insurance operations.

Since joining XL in 2003, Nadeau has held progressively more senior actuarial and management positions. Prior to her tenure with XL, she held actuarial positions with Kemper Insurance Companies and Liberty Mutual.

Insurance brokerage and risk management firm Integro hired Robert Stearns as a principal for the firm’s Global Marine practice in New York. He is responsible for the design, structure, placement and servicing of marine liability and marine hull insurance programs.

Stearns brings more than 25 years of experience in marine and energy insurance, including many years as a broker at Marsh, where he rose to managing director. Most recently he worked on the insurance carrier side, as a vice president, managing the marine liability and hull product line at Starr Companies.

Boston Insurance Brokerage Inc., a national wholesale broker based in Boston, has hired John Roderiques as an underwriter of workers’ compensation. Roderiques spent the last two years at Healthcare Professional Funding where he served as sales representative and inside sales manager.

Additionally, Boston Insurance Brokerage Inc. hired Joanne Bordonaro as broker’s assistant in the Property & Casualty Division. Bordonaro spent the last 10 years at Liberty International Insurance Underwriters where she served as underwriter assistant.

Hub International Northeast, part of Hub International Limited, has hired Nick Bueti as assistant vice president of the Employee Benefits division. He will be based out of the firm’s New York City office.

Bueti brings nearly two decades of industry experience to his new role. Most recently, he served as a benefits and senior account consultant with Corporate Synergies Group in New York City.

Employers Holdings Inc. in Reno, Nevada, has hired Martha Collins as vice president, regional sales for the eastern region. Collins will be based in Baltimore, Maryland.

She joins Employers Holdings from Hanover Insurance Co., where she served as a sales manager. Prior to that, she was with CNA as assistant vice president of business development for nine years.

Employers Holdings Inc. is a holding company with subsidiaries that are specialty providers of workers’ compensation insurance.
