Insurance broker Hub International Southeast has named Tim Love as president, Employee Benefits, responsible for overseeing employee benefits product and service offerings for Carolina and Florida. Love will be based in the Clearwater, Florida office.

Love has 20 years of experience in the insurance industry. Most recently, he served as senior vice president with Wells Fargo Insurance Services based in Tampa, where he was responsible for generating brand awareness through marketing and sales efforts. Prior to that, he served as the market president for the Florida territory at Humana Inc. He also served at United Health Care in various marketing and sales roles.

Retail insurance broker EPIC has added Annette Shepherd as a multinational placement specialist and account executive on its risk management team in the Southeast.

Shepherd brings 30 years of insurance and risk management experience, including 10 years as a multinational placement broker. Prior to joining EPIC, Shepherd spent 30 years with Marsh USA. Before entering the insurance business, she served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps based in Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii.

In her new role, Shepherd will work with Henry Shurling, senior vice president of International Business, providing client advisory support, global program development, and placement of foreign coverage for EPIC clients.

EPIC, which reports $150 million in revenues, is headquartered in California’s Silicon Valley. Its partners include private equity firms The Carlyle Group and Stone Point Capital.

Tom Ryan has been named market research leader at Marsh’s Workers’ Compensation Center of Excellence.

Ryan has been with Marsh Risk Consulting for the past 20 years. Most recently, he was the Northeast leader of MRC’s casualty claims consulting practice. He is based in New York and will report to Christopher Flatt, Marsh’s Workers’ Compensation Center of Excellence leader.

In his new role, Ryan will oversee research and distribution of content on emerging issues, federal and state regulatory changes, and prevailing market conditions, as well as other topics related to the workers’ compensation challenges facing employers.

Lake Mary, Florida-based AssuredPartners Inc. has promoted Louis Berman to the new role of regional vice president.

In his new position, Berman will focus on strategic growth and development opportunities and operational oversight for AssuredPartners platform companies Assured Neace Lukens and Dawson Companies in Virginia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia and Alabama.

Berman joined Assured Neace Lukens in 1999, and has held a variety of leadership roles within the company. Most recently, Berman’s responsibilities included managing a personal book of business, and operational leadership for Assured Neace Lukens South Carolina locations.

Berman has 30 years of experience in the insurance industry.

Willis North America has reinforced its cyber risk management and insurance services with appointments to its FINEX Cyber/E&O Practice. The following individuals will focus on Willis’ national and multinational clients:

Nadia Hoyte has been appointed senior broker in New York. Hoyt joined Willis in 2011 and has been a member of Willis’ FINEX team. In this role she will serve as a team leader for clients in all sectors.

Joe DePaul has been appointed senior broker and will be based in New York. DePaul brings 20 years of industry experience to the role and previously served as national practice leader/managing director for cyber risk at Arthur J. Gallagher Risk Management Services Inc.

John O’Donnell has been appointed senior broker and will also be based in New York He will focus on serving clients in the health care, higher education and retail sectors. O’Donnell previously served as a vice president with Marsh FINPRO.

Emily Lowe has been appointed senior broker based in Boston. Lowe joins Willis from ACE USA where she was an executive underwriter for professional liability focused on large cyber, technology and errors and omissions accounts.

Rob Barberi has been appointed senior broker and will also be based in Boston. Barberi joined Willis in 2009 and has been a key member of Willis’ FINEX team. In this role, he will focus on Willis’ health care, defense contractor, technology, retail and energy clients.

John Loftus has been appointed senior broker based in Boston. Loftus joined Willis in 2009 and has been a member of Willis’ FINEX team. In this role he will focus on serving Willis’ financial institution and retail clients.

Geoffrey Allen, executive vice president and FINEX North America Cyber Risk/E&O product leader, said clients are demanding cyber insurance and risk management solutions as they “confront expanding information technology-related risks, new regulations and a rapidly evolving cyber threat landscape.”
