Missouri-based Columbia Insurance Group (CIG) welcomed Kansas native Kelly Klug, as its new chief financial officer, senior vice president and treasurer.

Klug has 30 years of experience as an insurance and financial services professional.

He will direct all accounting information systems, as well as all financial reporting, planning and compliance.

Klug assumes position from Roger Ballard, who is retiring after more than 30 years of service to CIG.

CIG has five branch locations: Atlanta, Ga.; Austin, Texas; Columbia, Mo.; Omaha, Neb.; Salina, Kan.

The Central Insurance Companies, based in Van Wert, Ohio, promoted Timothy L. Rauch, to vice president of marketing for both Central Mutual and All America Insurance Companies.

Rauch will replace current Senior Vice President of Marketing Edd Buhl when he retires in December. Rauch previously held the position of regional vice president for Central’s southwest regional office in Dallas, Texas.

As vice president of marketing, Rauch will be responsible for developing and implementing marketing strategies, as well as furthering the strength of agency partnerships and strategic alliances.

Rauch has been employed with Central since 2009. He has over 25 years’ experience in the industry, managing commercial underwriting, marketing and regional operations for the Hartford Insurance Co., and on the independent agency side as a regional sales manager for USI and as a producing vice president for Insurance Alliance.

Wisconsin-based independent insurance agency M3 Insurance has promoted Travis Schreiber to surety account executive.

Travis joined M3 and its construction and real estate team in November 2013. Prior to M3, he was employed at Vierbicher Associates, Madison, as a professional engineer and group leader. He brings with him a balance of strong technical and interpersonal skills required to meet clients’ design and construction needs.

Ginny Majer joined insurance wholesaler Risk Innovations as territory manager for Illinois.

Based in Chicago, Majer will develop workers’ compensation and personal lines business with retail agents in Illinois.

Majer has been in the insurance industry for over 20 years with experience on the company, wholesaler, retail agency and association sides. She previously served as a director on the DuPage County Board of the IIA of Illinois and as a marketing representative for the IIA of Illinois.

Risk Innovations is an independent wholesale broker focused on workers’ compensation and personal lines business with offices in Atlanta, Ga.; Charlotte, N.C.; Chicago, Ill.; and Kansas City, Mo.

Portage, Mich.-based J.M. Wilson has promoted Erin Dey to director of sales and agency relations.

In addition to visiting agencies and instructing continuing education classes, Dey will develop a sales training program for underwriters, to enhance their skills and understanding of the importance of sales to the underwriting process.

Dey has been employed with J.M. Wilson for five years.

J.M. Wilson is a managing general agency and surplus lines broker with branch and affiliate offices in eight states.

Ann D. Davidson joined St. Paul, Minn.-based Allied Solutions, as vice president of risk consulting in the company’s bond division.

Davidson’s decade-spanning career in the credit union industry also includes positions in claims, loss prevention and underwriting.

Davidson is an authority on payment fraud, including cards, wires and Automated Clearing House (ACH). She is affiliated with various financial crime associations, as well as card and ACH associations that monitor fraud risk for financial institutions.

Davidson lives in Madison, Wis. She previously was senior risk management consultant with CUNA Mutual Group.

Cleveland, Ohio-based CBIZ Inc., a provider of employee benefits and insurance advisory services, appointed Jim O’Connor national practice leader for employee benefits.

O’Connor previously served as managing director and executive vice president of CBIZ’s New Jersey and New York employee benefits practice.

His predecessor, Bonnie Evelyn, resigned from the post effective July 1 but will continue working with CBIZ as an independent consultant.

O’Connor has more than 25 years of experience in the employee benefits industry. Prior to forming EAO Benefits in 2004 and joining CBIZ via acquisition in 2009, O’Connor served as executive vice president of Bank of America’s employee benefits and commercial insurance division, and as president of Meeker Sharkey Benefits, an employee benefits brokerage/consulting firm focused on middle-market and large employers.
