Keystone Insurers Group has named Matthew Sinosky as its director of business development. He is based in Keystone’s Northumberland, Penn., headquarters. Sinosky comes to Keystone from Eastern Alliance Insurance Co., where he served as risk management consultant, senior marketing representative and, most recently, abstract markets program executive. During his tenure at Eastern Alliance, Sinosky managed the property/casualty and employee benefits insurance programs. Keystone franchise partners and employees operate in Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Virginia, Indiana and Ohio. In addition, Keystone conducts business in Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia and Illinois.

Retail insurance broker EPIC (Edgewood Partners Insurance Center), has named Chris Duncan to the firm’s executive team as chief growth officer (CGO). As CGO for EPIC, Duncan will focus on growing EPIC’s presence throughout the United States, primarily through expansion of the company’s benefits business and acquisitions. Duncan will be based in Atlanta and will report directly to EPIC CEO John Hahn. He will work with Hahn, EPIC Chief Strategy Officer Derek Thomas, and other members of the EPIC executive leadership team on all growth initiatives.

Duncan brings 26 years of experience in finance, risk management, security and mergers and acquisitions. Prior to joining EPIC, Duncan served for six years with Mercer Health & Benefits, most recently as partner and health and benefits business leader and U.S. acquisitions leader. He has also held roles at Marsh as managing director, at Delta Airlines as chief risk officer, and at Frito-Lay as director of risk management and security.

Willis North America has appointed Kenneth White as national managed care practice leader for its Willis National Health Care Practice. The practice targets group health insurers, pharmaceutical benefit managers, local government sponsored plans, independent provider associations and accountable care organizations of all sizes.

In this role, White will be responsible for business development and helping managed care organizations navigate the system of health care delivery in the wake of health care reform. Based in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., White previously served as an attorney at Sedgwick, with a focus on health care litigation. He will report to Frank Castro, Willis national health care practice leader.

Atlanta-based insurance broker Beecher Carlson Insurance Services reported that Steele Hutto has joined the firm as business development specialist focused on the healthcare industry. Hutto will be based in Nashville and report to Kevin Gabhart, managing director. Hutto brings experience in underwriting, most recently serving as an underwriting specialist at CNA Financial. His previous roles include senior underwriter and underwriter at AIG.

XL Group has named Michele Sansone as president of its North America property insurance business and head of its global risk engineering division, XL GAPS.

Reporting to Joseph Tocco, chief executive of XL Insurance’s North America property /casualty unit in New York, Sansone is promoted from her role as chief underwriting officer, property. She will now direct XL Group’s property underwriting activities, including general property and energy property business across the U.S., Canada and Bermuda.

She will also oversee XL Group’s global network of risk engineers who provide on-site property risk analysis and support clients’ property loss prevention programs.

Sansone joined XL Group in 2011 from Zurich NA where she served as senior vice president and Northeast regional manager. Most recently, she served as XL Group’s chief underwriting officer for North America property as well as senior vice president and Eastern regional executive where she was responsible for managing XL’s property underwriting, risk engineering activities and broker relationships throughout XL’s Eastern zone from Florida to Maine.

XL Group has also enhanced its excess casualty teams in New York and Atlanta to accommodate its focus on target industries – real estate, hospitality, grocers, restaurants and retail.

In New York, XL Group has added Tiffani Ann Earwood, Susan E. Stevens and John Russomanno as senior underwriters. Mary Guiney joins XL Group’s Atlanta office, also as senior underwriter.

Earwood joins XL Group with a decade of excess underwriting experience, most recently with Ironshore.

Stevens rejoins XL Group after pursuing other business opportunities, bringing back with her 20 years of excess underwriting and management experience, including positions with ACE and Chubb.

Russomanno joins XL Group from Travelers’ excess casualty business and also brings a decade of experience with umbrella and excess casualty coverage.

Guiney adds another two decades of excess casualty underwriting experience and management experience, including positions with Kemper and AIG.

XL Group’s global excess casualty teams are in Bermuda; Toronto; Dublin; New York; Exton, Pa.; Chicago; Kansas City, Mo.; Dallas; San Francisco; Boston and Atlanta.
