Selective Insurance Group in Branchville, N.J., selected John Marchioni as president and chief operating officer. Gregory Murphy, who remains chairman and chief executive officer, previously held the president title.

Marchioni had served as executive vice president, Insurance Operations, with oversight for Selective’s property/casualty insurance operations since 2008. He joined Selective in 1998 and has held a variety of positions, including vice president and strategic business unit leader, senior vice president and director of Personal Lines, and executive vice president and chief field operations officer.

Berkshire Hathaway’s Gen Re has announced A. Morris Tooker will become president of General Reinsurance Corp., responsible for direct property/casualty reinsurance businesses worldwide. Tooker succeeds I. John Cholnoky who will retire as president of General Reinsurance Corporation in the first quarter of 2014.

Tooker has been responsible for Gen Re’s direct treaty business worldwide. He has held various roles with Gen Re since 1991, when he started as a property underwriter.

Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance continues to boost its team roster. It announced the appointment of Todd Greeley as vice president of claims for executive and professional lines.

Greeley was previously vice president for CNA Pro Claim, at CNA Financial Corp. Greeley will be based in New York. Before joining CNA in 2002, Greeley was an attorney in private practice in New York.

FinSecure – a W.R. Berkley Corp. member company in Towson, Md., that focuses on insurance for financial institutions – announced that Elizabeth Loft Good joined the company as vice president and chief underwriting officer of property/casualty. Good has over 25 years of experience in the standard and specialty P/C industry.

William Gallagher Associates, a Boston-based brokerage, appointed Kimberly Brennan as vice president of human resources.

Brennan has an extensive background in many areas of human resources. She has worked in senior roles for Cytyc, MathWorks and American Express. She is a member of the Society of Human Resource Management, and the New England Human Resource Association.

New York-based brokerage Integro hired Catherine Torsney as senior vice president within the firm’s private client group.

Torsney’s insurance career has included brokering fine art, jewelry and rare collections coverage and service as a senior specialty lines underwriter. She managed various aspects of complex insurance programs for museums, galleries, businesses, prominent artists and private collectors.

Aspen US Insurance in New York named Jude DiBattista as senior vice president and chief underwriting officer for Excess Casualty.

DiBattista has 20 years of industry experience in property/casualty lines, most recently as environmental product manager for Aspen US Insurance. Prior to joining Aspen, he worked for a number of insurers in primary and excess casualty underwriting, integrated products, environmental, middle market, national and global accounts.

Bermuda-based specialty insurer Ironshore Inc. appointed Aileen Marchese as senior vice president of the Northeast Region. Based in New York, she will be responsible for the management, oversight and operational execution of business development strategies.

Prior to joining Ironshore, she served for nine years as senior vice president/zonal manager of New York region for the Risk Specialists Company Insurance Agency, a subsidiary of AIG.
