David K. Page, a partner in the corporate department at Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn LLP, has been named non-executive chairman of the board of Michigan-based Meadowbrook Insurance Group Inc. a position formerly held by the company’s founder Merton J. Segal.

Page has been a member of Meadowbrook’s board for 13 years. During that time, he has served as chair of both its finance and investment committees. In addition, he has served as a member of its governance and compensation committees.

Page also currently serves on the board of directors for Keyco Bond Fund Inc. He has previously served on the corporate boards of Allied Supermarkets Inc., Meadowdale Foods, Inc. and Highland Superstores Inc.

Scott Names has been hired as vice president – chief information officer (CIO) at Merrill, Wisc.-based Church Mutual Insurance Co.

Former CIO Chris Graham has been named vice president – chief technology officer. He has served as CIO at the company since 1997.

Names has been in the insurance industry for the past 20 years, including the last three years at Zurich Insurance Ltd. in Schaumburg, Ill. He has been head of planning and performance management – North America since June of 2011. Previous to that, he was head of finance operations – Americas.

He also previously worked for Liberty Mutual Group/Wausau Insurance Companies with stints as market financial manager, assistant vice president business systems and operations and chief financial officer.

Names has earned the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation.

Graham was an officer at a Milwaukee-based insurance company before joining Church Mutual.

Toledo, Ohio-based insurance brokerage, Hylant, promoted Kevin O’Donnell to Global Practice Executive (GPE). He is based in Hylant’s Detroit, Mich., office.

O’Donnell will be responsible for the development, growth and vision of Hylant’s global practice. He will oversee Hylant’s international strategy and client service, and play an integral part in the company’s Worldwide Broker Network, a fully integrated network of independent property and casualty and employee benefits brokers in the world located in over 90 countries.

O’Donnell will retain leadership of Hylant’s Property and Marine Practice Group.

Prior to joining Hylant seven years ago, O’Donnell served as vice president of property at Palmer & Cay/Wachovia Insurance Services.

Chicago-based CNA Financial Corp. has appointed Derek Smith as vice president of corporate development, in charge of investor relations, rating agency management, capital management, and mergers and acquisitions.

Smith comes to CNA from Macquarie Capital Inc., where he served as vice president in the investment banking division advising clients in the property and casualty, life and health, insurance brokerage and insurance services sectors. Prior to Macquarie, he worked for General Electric Co. as an associate in its corporate audit staff and analyst in its financial management program.

Roundstone Management Ltd., which specializes in alternative risk insurance products and is based in Westlake, Ohio, has added Gene Pompili as senior vice president of sales.

Pompili will lead and further develop Roundstone’s medical stop loss sales team. He brings more than 20 years of experience in the employee benefits industry. Prior to joining Roundstone Pompili worked with MetLife and Nationwide Insurance Co.

Roundstone’s medical stop loss group captive program, Mid-Market Med, was established in 2005 and writes medical stop loss coverage in all fifty states.
