Louisiana Workers’ Compensation Corp. (LWCC) promoted Angie Risley to manager of financial reporting and Shelly Vige to premium audit manager.

Risley has been with LWCC since 2003 when she was hired as a senior accountant. She has also held the title of senior financial analyst.

Vige is one of a handful of employees with more than 20 years of service to LWCC, having joined the organization in 1992. She has held a number of positions in that time, including agency relations coordinator in Marketing and business analyst in Information Technology Services. Vige was most recently a technology and operations specialist.

Vige earned her Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation in 2007 and is an active member of the Bayou Chapter of the CPCU Society.

The Austin Association of Insurance Professionals (AAIP) elected Kimmi Cantwell, with McGowan, Donnelly & Oberheu LLC as elected president of the group for 2013/2014.

Also elected were: President-Elect Mari Beth Matott, The Parks Group Inc.; Recording Secretary Tiffany Way, MSW; Treasurer Melissa Reed, Independent Insurance Agents of Texas; Director Jan Kearbey, Service Lloyd’s Insurance Co.; Director Nathan Lenss, Brown & Brown; and Director Shelia Moore, Higginbotham & Associates.

Cantwell also received the 2012/2013 Insurance Professional of the year award for outstanding service to AAIP.

The 2013/2014 fiscal year is the 70th year for AAIP.

Dallas-based managing general agency and surplus lines wholesaler, U.S. Risk Insurance Group Inc., has named Quinton Goss, vice president for HealthcarePros, the healthcare division of U.S. Risk Underwriters. The division focuses on long term care, assisted living, social services and miscellaneous care risks.

Goss has more than 15 years of experience in the insurance industry and has worked in both a brokerage and underwriting capacity on various lines of business for surplus lines, MGA and carrier side companies. Most recently, he was a senior underwriter for the StaffPak division of U.S. Risk Underwriters.

Combined Agents of America LLC (CAA), based in Austin, Texas, has elected a new management committee for 2013-14, led by Chairman Bill Kliewer, managing partner of BKCW Insurance Agency in Killeen, Texas.

The new 2013-14 Management Committee also includes:

President Roger Luttrell, president of Benton-Luttrell-Brown, headquartered in Van Alstyne, Texas, with another office in Sherman, Texas. Luttrell serves on the State Auto Agents Advisory Council.

Mike Padula has been tapped to head Liberty International Underwriters’ (LIU) expansion of its environmental impairment liability (EIL) operation for the Southwest.

Padula, who is based in Houston, will focus on regional trends to develop new opportunities and expand LIU’s producer base in the Southwest region.

LIU’s entire suite of environmental liability products will be supported by this expanded presence, as well as by LIU’s existing EIL operations in New York, Boston, San Francisco and Denver.
