Don Parkes, an insurance executive with 18 years of experience in catastrophe risk management, has been named vice president of sales for the American Association of Insurance Services (AAIS), a national insurance advisory organization that develops policy forms and rating information used by property/casualty insurers.

As part of his duties as AAIS vice president of sales, Parkes will be the product leader for the AAIS Homeowners By-Peril Plan, the first bureau plan filed and approved in most states for rating homeowners insurance by separate perils.

Parkes comes to AAIS from CoreLogic, which maintains databases on properties, mortgages, and consumers. Before joining CoreLogic in 2007, Parkes was senior vice president and chief risk officer at ICAT Holdings LLC, a catastrophe risk firm based in Boulder, Col. Prior to his years at ICAT, Parkes was with Risk Management Solutions Inc., a catastrophe modeling firm.

The ACE Group has named Juan Andrade, division president, Global Personal Lines and Small Commercial Insurance, to the additional post of chief operating officer of the company’s Insurance – Overseas General business, effective immediately.

In this new role, Andrade will assume a range of general management, underwriting and business development responsibilities for the company’s non-life insurance operations in 50 countries in the Asia Pacific, Latin America, and Europe, Middle East and Africa regions.

Based in New York, Andrade will continue to lead the company’s personal lines and small commercial insurance business globally and will continue to report to Evan G. Greenberg, ACE Limited chairman and chief executive officer, and John Keogh, vice chairman and chief operating officer, ACE Limited, and chairman, Insurance – Overseas General.

Insurance brokerage and risk management firm Integro appointed Nick Trent as a principal in its property practice. He will be based in the firm’s New York office.

Trent brings to Integro 23 years of experience in the global property insurance industry. He comes from Marsh & McLennan, where he was most recently senior vice president and team leader of its property and international practice. Earlier, he served as senior vice president and global property leader for the Willis Risk Solutions’ New Jersey team.

Transportation specialist Trinity Underwriting Managers Inc. (TUMI), based in Pooler, Georgia, has named Stephen Standing as senior vice president.

Standing started his professional life in 1996 as an underwriter for Homestead Insurance Co. He then served as marketing manager for B&S Underwriters and then as a managing partner for Delta Intermediaries.

Most recently, he was senior vice president at Kirkway International Limited.

Standing is already familiar with TUMI’s operations. During the past three years, while living in Bermuda, he served as TUMI’s insurance/reinsurance intermediary and helped TUMI place programs.

For TUMI, Standing will develop new programs and strengthen its agent force. Founded in 2008, TUMI offers products for specialty classes of transportation in 48 states, excluding Massachusetts and Alaska.

Liberty International Underwriters (LIU), part of the Global Specialty unit of Liberty Mutual Insurance, has brought on Robert Rokicki, as senior vice president of oil, gas, petrochemical and chemical (OGPC) property. Based in New York City, Rokicki will have responsibility for all of LIU’s OGPC products in the U.S. and Latin America.

Rokicki has 25 years’ experience in directing business across a range of energy property insurance and advanced technology products, processes and markets. Prior to joining LIU, Rokicki was a senior executive at a Fortune 100 insurer and had responsibility for managing a portfolio of energy property in the U.S. and Canada.

LIU provides insurance coverage for oil, gas, petrochemical and chemical facilities and plants worldwide.

J. Douglas Robinson, chairman of the board and chief executive officer of the Utica National Insurance Group, has been elected 2013 chairman of the industry’s communications organization, the Insurance Information Institute (I.I.I.). He succeeds Gregory Ator, president, CEO and chairman, Bituminous Insurance Companies.

Robinson joined Utica National in 1983 as director of Agency Services and since then has served in various roles including Eastern regional marketing manager, general manager of Utica’s Risk Management Corp. director of commercial lines sales, senior marketing officer and senior vice president. In 1993 he was promoted to executive vice president. In 1995 he was named president of UticaLIFE and in 1996 he was promoted to president and chief operating officer of Utica Mutual. In 2000, Robinson was named chief executive officer of Utica Mutual and in 2006 he was elected chairman of the board. Prior to joining Utica National, he was an independent insurance agent.

Robinson is a member of the boards of directors of all Utica National member companies and subsidiaries. In addition to the I.I.I., he serves on the boards of the Property Casualty Insurance Association of America, the Property Loss Research Bureau, and the Mohawk Valley EDGE.
