Aon Risk Solutions, the brokerage and risk management business of Aon plc, recently announced the addition of Rachel Perry as managing director and Southeast region casualty leader in the Atlanta office. In her new role, Perry is responsible for managing the casualty broking team and maximizing the growth of casualty business in the Southeast.
Prior to joining Aon Risk Solutions, Perry held several roles at Marsh including casualty leader in the Atlanta office.
Florida Insurance Commissioner Kevin McCarty announced that Rebecca Matthews, deputy chief of staff at the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation, will direct the government affairs initiatives, which includes both legislative and cabinet affairs. Her new government affairs role is an expansion of her current duties.
As deputy chief of staff since 2008, Matthews has had primary oversight of the market research and technology business unit and served in an advisory role to the chief of staff for agency operations. Matthews will continue to perform these functions while assuming her new role directing the Office’s government affairs outreach.
Prior to joining the Office of Insurance Regulation, Matthews served as legislative affairs director for both the Florida Department of Management Services and the Florida Lottery. She has also served in lead communications positions, including as vice president of communications at the Florida Bankers Association.
Dave Medvidofsky, CPCU, has been elected as 2012-2013 president of the CPCU Society. He will be responsible for defining CPCU Society policies and monitoring administration of the CPCU Society.
Medvidofsky is a vice president and head of the internal audit unit at The Main Street America Group, a property/casualty insurer based in Jacksonville, Fla. During his career, he has worked on the agency and company sides, and has held staff and line positions in underwriting, marketing, product development, operations and finance.
As an active CPCU Society member, he has taught insurance courses, assumed industry volunteer leadership positions, and authored articles for industry trade publications.
He holds the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC), Certified Risk Manager (CRM), Associate in Risk Management (ARM), Associate in Insurance Accounting and Finance (AIAF), and Accredited Adviser in Insurance (AAI) designations.
The Griffith Insurance Education Foundation has named Kevin H. Brown as its executive director. The organization said that this new role will complement Brown’s responsibilities as executive director of the CPCU Society. The Griffith Foundation, which is affiliated with The Institutes that offer the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) education programs, is a non-profit educational organization that promotes the study and teaching of risk management and all lines of insurance. The organizations said that closer coordination of The Griffith Foundation and CPCU Society will help both organizations achieve their strategic goals.
Personal lines insurer Allstate has named Ally Financial’s Sanjay Gupta to its senior leadership team as executive vice president and chief marketing officer. Gupta is responsible for Allstate’s marketing and consumer-focused initiatives and reports to Thomas J. Wilson, Allstate’s chairman, president and chief executive officer.
Gupta joins Allstate from Ally Financial, where as chief marketing officer he led the company’s global re-branding efforts. Prior to Ally, he was at Bank of America, where he spent seven years. Gupta has also held marketing roles at SciQuest.com Inc. and Federal Express.
