Keith Jandahl, vice president of insurance operations for Hasting, Mich.-based property/casualty insurer, Hastings Mutual Insurance Co., is retiring at the end of 2012 after a 35 year career in the insurance industry.
Jandahl will be succeeded by William (Bill) Gregor, who is currently serving as the assistant vice president of personal and farm lines. Gregor will officially assume the new role on Dec. 1, 2012.
The Griffith Insurance Education Foundation named Kevin H. Brown as executive director. Brown also is executive director of the CPCU Society. The Griffith Foundation is affiliated with The Institutes, which offer the CPCU education programs.
Missouri-based medical professional liability insurer, Keystone Mutual Insurance Co., has hired L. Richard Bargatze, Jr. as vice president of sales for the company’s western region. He has nearly 20 years of experience in the insurance industry.
Chicago-based CNA Financial Corp. added J. Michael Kirchgessner as vice president of umbrella for commercial underwriting. He comes to CNA with almost 20 years of industry experience, and most recently was vice president, regional underwriting manager for ACE Risk Management.
Aon Risk Solutions has promoted LeAnne McCorry as national managing principal and executive chairman of the Detroit, Mich., office, and Carol Williams as resident managing director and CEO of the Detroit office.
McCorry, who has been with Aon since 1991, is certified as an Associate in Fidelity and Surety Bonding and as a Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter.
Williams will now oversee Aon Risk Solutions’ operations in Michigan. Williams joined Aon in 1999 and has earned her CPCU designation.
Minnetoka, Minn.-based OneBeacon Professional Insurance (OBPI), a member of OneBeacon Insurance Group, appointed Daniel Melanson as senior vice president leading the medical excess line of business. Melanson brings more than 20 years of experience in underwriting and leadership for this specialized line of coverage.
Jonah Pfeffer has joined Bloomington, Minn.-based independent reinsurance intermediary StoneHill Reinsurance Partners LLC as executive vice president.
Pfeffer, who has 15 years of industry experience, most recently was a managing director in the U.S. Casualty Specialty Practice at Guy Carpenter & Co. LLC.
The Marine insurance operation of XL Group plc added Pete Shepeck, Brian Stockton and Jeannine Liebig to its regional underwriting team in Chicago.
Shepeck joins XL as regional vice president, North America Marine. Most recently with Alterra Insurance, Shepeck’s 35-plus year marine insurance career also includes positions with St. Paul and Travelers Insurance.
Stockton joins the team as executive underwriter from The Hartford Insurance Group where he was a senior marine sales underwriter. Stockton also worked for the Lockton Cos. as an account manager.
With more than 20 years of marine underwriting support experience, Liebig joins XL from Navigators Management Co.
Lockton added Don Glazier and Michael Schmitt in the insurance broker’s Chicago office.
Glazier joins Lockton Financial Services Practice as vice president and claims’ counsel. Most recently, Glazier worked as principal at Integro.
Schmitt joins the Global Technology and Privacy Practice as AVP and account executive. Schmitt previously worked at Beazley Insurance.
